MWMusic - Empowering Generations Through Music I am a fully qualified primary teacher and have been teaching music outside of school hours since 2006.

In 2016 I started a music school in Auckland but had to close it in July 2018 when my family and I moved to Papamoa. I have quickly realised the need for more musical opportunities for people of all ages here. I have decided to start 'Melanie Wilton Music' School so I can help empower generations through music in the beautiful Papamoa. Over the next few years I will be expanding the school and a l

arger variety of orchestral instruments will be taught, so please keep an eye on this page for updates!

My children are now both at school, so I have made the decision to go back primary teaching full time. Because of this, I will no longer be able to teach music lessons during the term time.
However, I will be looking at opening some holiday sessions for private lessons. Please note that I will no longer be teaching the piano.
Message me if you’d like to find out more information or to book for a 30/45 minute lesson in the April/May holidays.
$35 - per 30 minute lesson
$50 - per 45 minute lesson
$150 - bundle deal 5x30 minute lessons

Group Lessons (minimum 3, max 5 students) $10 each student per 1/2 hour lesson
Small Group Lesson (two students) $20 each student per 1/2 hour lesson
Private Lessons: $35 per 1/2 hour lesson

~UPDATE~
I am thinking of starting homeschooling music/drama classes in the new year. They won’t be instrument lessons, but more understanding/creating based lessons packed with fun. I am a fully qualified primary teacher and have 12 years teaching experience. I have also been teaching music for 17 years outside of school hours. The lessons will be NZ curriculum based and will be around 1.5 hours per week. I am looking at having around 10-15 students per class. At this stage I am unsure of the price, but it will be very reasonable. Please email [email protected] if you are interested in registering and/or want to learn more about these classes.

I have really enjoyed teaching all my after school students. There is a lot of talent in the Papamoa/Mt Maunganui area! It is a bitter/sweet time where I have had to make the choice to say goodbye to my after school students, as I am going to focus on being the best mum possible to my children who are going through big changes at the moment (starting school and changing preschools!).
I am still looking at taking MWMusic into primary schools in Papamoa, so keep your eyes peeled for updates!
