Farmyard Preschool

Farmyard Preschool Farmyard Preschool provides quality early childhood care & education for preschoolers in the Upper Hutt region. Animals are an integral part of our centre.

We are really looking forward to the opportunity of supporting your child on their learning journey and getting to know you, your child and your Whanau.

Here at Farmyard Preschool, we will provide a safe, nurturing environment where tamariki independence is fostered. Tamariki will be supported to learn at their own pace so that they become confident and competent in their ability to learn. We b

elieve in the importance of allowing tamariki to explore their world developing a sense of excitement and understanding of where and how they fit.We are committed to Te tiriti o Waitangi and understand the importance of our role as kaiako to incorporate bi-cultural practice through the use of Te reo and Tikanga Māori throughout the centre. Through child / animal interactions we believe children will have the opportunity to develop empathy and responsibility to help support social development with peers. Children will also develop an understanding of sensitivity, sustainability and ways in which they can care for the world around them. We believe in the importance of building strong reciprocal relationships with tamariki whānau, iwi and hapū to support their learning. We encourage and welcome their contributions and are committed to supporting whānau aspirations for their tamariki. As teachers we believe early childhood education is paramount for laying a strong foundation to support a journey of lifelong learning. As professionals it is important for us to continue on our learning journey so we are able to deliver a high quality theory based experience for all ākonga.

I would really appreciate if you could take a few minutes to complete this so we can look at the 2026 strategic plan.
