Another fun night at Upper Hutt Toastmasters with the theme of spring 🐣

Andrew did a speech on leading with integrity

Table topics are where you are given a topic and you have to talk about it on the spot for two minutes great for job interviews or small talk or thinking on the spot. They can be real stories or made up 😆

Another fun night at Upper Hutt Toastmasters we even had a guest that came along from the Toastmasters membership drive at Queensgate shopping centre.

We had a theme of black cats and it isn't even Halloween yet 🎃 😆.

We had Ramesh do an icebreaker on the land of spices, colours, festivals and where everything is celebrated and where the simple act of crossing the road is like an extreme sport 😆

Karl did a speech on 'sorting out your affairs', Not those type of affairs, Bahadur 😆, Bahadur introduced and evaluated Karl's speech 😆. The speech was actually on wills and power of attorneys and the points made including those in regards to Kiwisaver were an eye opener and very informative.

Philippa did a table topic on home is where the heart is which is in Palmerston North

Another fun night at Upper Hutt Toastmasters with Table Topics

Table topics involves being put on the spot and having to talk about a given topic for two minutes it doesn't have to be truthful you can make it up. Topics last night were:

What if you found out that life was just a simulation?

What if your most ridiculous childhood fear was suddenly a valid concern?

What if the internet had never come into existence?

What if you come to know that your newly purchased home has been inhabited by a spirit?

Would you rather have unlimited knowledge or unlimited creativity?

What if we could adopt any kind of pet, what would it be?

Bahadur gave a speech on how he is going to paint his vintage Audi which also happens to be one of the cars from my childhood 🤗

Bahadur got best overall, Karl best evaluator, Andrew best Table topics, Coos Most improved

Monday night was a good night with the interpretive reading and the Tall Tales contest essentially a competition of who could tell the biggest BS stories 😆

The winners of the Interpretive reading contest were Phillipa Murdoch 1st place, Bahadur Bussan 2nd place and Ramesh Ra 3rd place

Tonight we have our Tall tales and Interpretive readings it will be a fun night out. Tall tales refers to who can come up with the biggest BS stories 😆. We are still looking for people who would like to stand in as judges for the contest.

Another fun night at Toastmasters Upper Hutt with Bahadur Bussan as chair and the football world cup as the theme and Goal as the word of the day so whenever the word 'Goal' was mentioned by the speaker the audience had to yell out Goal! 😆 We had two speeches one on how to use a Logitech pointer device for presentations and another on coaching vs mentoring. Ann received the best Evaluator, Gagan got Most Improved and Andrew got both Best Overall and Best Table Topic.
