Maidstone Intermediate Roadshow 💃 🕺 🎤

🌟 What a fantastic end to the week with a Friday afternoon performance! Our senior school was treated to an incredible performance by a talented group from Maidstone Intermediate. Our students were completely wowed by the talent on display, from high-energy dance routines and expressive dramatic choreography to engaging drama snippets. We were even lucky enough to spot a number of familiar OCS faces up on stage!

Highlights of the visit included:
• A special sneak peek segment from their 1st place winning Stage Quest performance!
• Eye-catching routines ranging from sparkling sequins and ties to powerful dramatic pieces in red that kept our entire audience captivated.

A massive thank you to the talented students and staff from Maidstone Intermediate for putting on such a phenomenal show. Thank you for giving our students a glimpse of the wonderful creative opportunities waiting for them in the future! 🎭🩰✨

What an incredible morning of discovery at the Science Roadshow! 🔬✨

Our Y3-6 tamariki had an absolute blast getting hands on with interactive exhibits and exploring science concepts in action. From testing optical illusions like Benham’s Disc and color word puzzles, to experimenting with pendulums, astronomy, and physics trivia, our curious thinkers were completely engaged from start to finish.

Here are a few highlights of what our young scientists explored:
Interactive Physics & Motion: Getting hands-on with coupled pendulums, resonance, and momentum.
• Sight & Illusions: Mind-bending experiments with optical tricks, Benham’s Disc, and mirror illusions.
• Space & Astronomy: Interactive star charts, mapping constellations, and exploring planetary weights.
• Science in Daily Life: Fun trivia breakdowns of household mechanics, biology recaps, and chemical properties.

Ka pai to all our students for asking brilliant questions and diving headfirst into hands on learning! 🧪🚀

Celebrating our week 🌟

What a busy week we’ve had at Oxford Crescent! We all watched online as our Kapa Haka performed at the Ōrongomai Marae 50th celebrations on Wednesday, a few of our cultural leaders joined the UH Kapa Haka yesterday, and we celebrated the end of this super week with a full school assembly.

Pictured here are the recipients of our Principal’s Awards and Cultural Awards, along with a photo of Te Kahui o Ngā Hau e Wha performers at Ōrongomai Marae. Congratulations everyone. 🌟

Have a great weekend!

What a phenomenal day!

Our children took to the stage at the Upper Hutt Schools’ Cultural Fest today and delivered a performance that was nothing short of breathtaking. The passion, energy, and pride they displayed left the audience beaming with joy.

A massive ngā mihi nui to our amazing kaiako—Whaea Jamie, Whaea Belinda, and Whaea Emilee. Their dedication, guidance, and endless support behind the scenes were integral in helping our tamariki refine their performance and shine so brightly today.

We were truly humbled and overwhelmed to receive a powerful haka from MMaidstone Intermediatein response to our performance. It was a deeply moving moment of respect and connection that our school community will cherish.

Off the stage, the magic continued as our children thoroughly enjoyed sitting back to watch and celebrate the amazing performances from all the other schools.
To our performers: you were absolutely amazing. You represented our school with immense heart and excellence, and we could not be prouder of every single one of you!
