Have you noticed the additions to our Philosophy wall?
Jade is doing such a wonderful mural, we are excited each time we find something new.
Did you know? Jade pops in after session or before session sometimes and sometimes over the weekend just to add things. It takes up so much of her time but she has shared with us how she honestly loves doing it. She is very humble but loaded with amazing talant and we are so grateful to her. It evolves weekly!

On Friday the 28th of Auguist ( Next week) we will be supporting
Daffodil Day! This is the Cancer Society’s most iconic and much-loved fundraising campaign.
It’s the generosity of New Zealanders on Daffodil Day that help cancer patients and their families (whānau) get the care and practical support they need; from crucial help getting to treatment via our free driving service, through to specialist nursing and psychology support, and accommodation for those needing life-saving treatment far from home.
Each day 81 Kiwis hear the words, “you have cancer.” Daffodil Day is a chance to show your friends and family affected by cancer they’re not alone.
SOOOO on Friday the 28th you can dress up in any costume can have freaky hair, be yellow if you wish, or superheroes and monsters … what ever rocks your boat!
Let’s have some CRAZY FUN!!!!
All we ask is a coin donation to go toward this cause.
We are no longer having a Teacher Only Day on October the 27th this has been cancelled and a new date will be decided for next year. We will keep you posted.
We are always looking out for things to collect for our collage area, so if you can collect, boxes of all sizes ( no medicine ones) , cardboard tubes (not toilet paper ones) , wrapping paper scraps, greeting cards, ribbons, wool, dried natural things like seed pods, leaves, moss etc, small driftwood, large driftwood, loose parts for outside, wood, log rounds, etc this would be great!
If you would like to help at any time in the garden, or as parent help please feel free to come along or talk to us at any stage. You are part of our whānau, and Doris Nicholson Kindergarten is your place too!
So many fun times are happening daily here, and the tamariki are all leading their own learning. Please look at our back wall for things “Happening Here!” and in portfolio stories.
Kaiako (teacher’s) are learning alongside your tamariki, each day they teach us!
We are educators with degrees, diploma’s, experience and 100 per cent trained, AND we learn from these Tamariki. It is a privilege and a joy each day!
