New research proved what many of you have felt for years: dyslexia isn't a flaw. It's ancient hardware — hardware that has been part of humanity for 15,000 years.

Scientists found these traits haven't been selected against in all that time. Evolution didn't try to remove them. That means something about how dyslexic minds work actually matters.

Before reading and writing existed, survival came down to seeing patterns, solving problems, thinking visually. That's exactly what many dyslexic minds do best.

✨ Supporting Dyslexia starts with the right questions.

When someone struggles with a word, it’s easy to say “try harder.” But pushing through confusion can bury them in confusion.

Instead, we encourage learners to pause and check in:
🟣 Do you feel confused?
🟣 Can you reset yourself?
🟣 Do you need a break?

At Davis Pacific we say “try easy, try often.” When learners recognise confusion and use their tools to reset, clarity can return and reading becomes possible again.
