Due to forecasted rain showers and the fact we have had over a third of the school hit badly with this flu 🤧 we have made the decision NOT TO GO on SNOW SQUAD this week so all our kids can get well and not be cold and wet. We hope next week brings a good day and lots of well kids.

Year 7-8 Whānau - due to staff illness and a shortage of available teachers there is no Technology class at Tongariro this morning. Please send your children to school as normal. If they do arrive at Tongariro someone will meet them and arrange transport to Kuratau.

Mahi Tahi electives were in full swing this afternoon! 🌟

From Food Exploration (also known as enjoying ice cream 🍦 in The Food Lab), to Lights, Camera, Action! where budding filmmakers were hard at work with Mrs Pyman 🎬, our learners were fully engaged in hands-on, authentic learning experiences.

Meanwhile, Biz Kids were tackling some serious discussions around profit and loss 💰, while students in A Monumental Journey were busy researching, sketching, planning, and designing significant monuments from around the world 🌍.

It is fantastic to see our tamariki collaborating across year levels, a true reflection of tuakana-teina relationships in action. These opportunities not only foster creativity, curiosity, and critical thinking, but also strengthen the connections that make our school community AWESOME.

This learning reflects our school whakataukī:

Kimihia te Mātauranga kia ū ki te Pono
To Seek knowledge and hold fast to the truth.
