Well done to our Science students who had some great successes at recent Science Fairs in both Auckland and Waikato! π€©ππΌ The NIWA South and East Auckland Science Fair was held in Saint Kentigern College in Pakuranga. Olivia Islip and Armani Phillips joined the Living World Category. Their research title was βFrom Glam to Scram: Biodegradable Glitter and the Cardiac Impact on Daphnia Magna.β It was a tough competition considering the large number of students that participated. The judges were impressed by their research findings and they were awarded third place! π₯ They will receive their prize on 4 September.
Another research competition was the Waikato Regional Science Fair held at Distinction Hotel in Hamilton! π€© Aania Baloch and Jasmeen Kaur represented the school in the Living World Category. Their research title was βKilling Me Soap-ly: Using Daphnia magna as Bioindicator of Agapanthus Rhizome Saponin Toxicity.β The judges were interested about their research project, and an award will be given to them on 10 September π
Zoe Martin also gave honor and pride to our kura! She participated in the Senior Invention and Technical Innovation Category. Her research title was βInjection, Illusion and Infiltration.β She will receive an award on 10 September ππΌ
