It's been great to be able to take on new students from all ages over the last few weeks. I can't believe my schedule is almost full, only having space for one more student!!!
I'm extremely grateful that my students believe in me and what I'm teaching and I'm looking forward to seeing what sort of drummers they become.

I try my best to customise my lessons to every individual and attempt to understand their vibe and the potential direction they might want to go in as a musician. All of us has our own voice, I'm just trying to teach a drummer the language.

I’ve been playing drums for over 30 years, both here in New Zealand and overseas. I’ve worked as a full-time professional drummer in covers bands, original projects, and studio sessions—it’s been an amazing journey so far!

I also have a background in teaching, with a Bachelor of Education and ten years teaching experience. These days, I've decided to combine that teaching experience with my love of drumming to help others learn and grow as musicians.

For me, drumming should always be fun—but it’s also super important to learn the core skills properly. Good habits early on make a big difference and help set you up for long-term progress and creativity. For me, it's important to understand what your playing and develop your own unique voice from there. Key word, Understand.
