The end of year is fast approaching which means celebrations are in order. Here is the information for our end of year Prize-Giving. 2 weeks to go 😁

These are the ōhu your tamariki belong to:
Te Tauihu = TT1 (Blue, Purple, Green & Orange Room), TT2, Room 5 & 6.
Te Rauawa = Taumanu, Paewai, Manaia & Aukaha
Te Taurapa = Te Ao & Te Pumanawa

🚀✨ Monday Madness: Cosmic Explosions! ✨

This week, our budding astronauts dove into a hands-on science experiment we’ve dubbed Cosmic Explosions! 🌌🧪 Students combined baking soda, vinegar, soap, and food coloring to create their own intergalactic eruptions! 🌋💥 The classroom was filled with excitement as we explored how this strange, fizzing substance might behave on another planet. 🌠

But the fun doesn't stop there! As part of our enterprise and space-themed learning, students will be writing letters to a family member they don’t live with 📝💌, sharing all about their discoveries and the challenges they solved as young space scientists. These letters will be mailed out soon, so keep an eye on your mailbox for a special surprise from your little astronaut! ✉️🚀

🌟 Highlights:

Students became real-life problem-solvers, making predictions and observing the "explosions" like true scientists! 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬
They’ve also connected this exciting experiment to their space-themed enterprise project, imagining how astronauts might use their discovery in space! 🚀🛰️
Next stop: Sharing their out-of-this-world experience with loved ones through a special letter from space! 💌🌠

What an amazing start to the term!

From alien slime to being chosen as Kaitiaki o ngā kūmara, learning about statistics, and practicing ball-handling skills—not to mention training for athletics coming up in Week 3—our tamariki have been kept busy!

This is going to be a wild term full of fun and learning. Each week starts with Monday Madness, where tamariki participate in science activities or special challenges, as our focus this term is Enterprise, with an emphasis on challenges and how we can overcome them.

As it’s now Term 4 and the weather is heating up, please remind tamariki to bring a water bottle and their pōtae (school sunhats), especially as we prepare for athletics every Tuesday to Thursday in the afternoon. It’s getting hot out there!

Hope you’ve all had an awesome weekend, and I can’t wait to kick off Week 2!

We had a fantastic start to the term! During the break, a creature left slime all over our room and I managed to get it into trays for us to investigate.

We’ll be doing different experiments every Monday, so make sure your tamariki don’t miss out!
