It’s important to us that we provide an environment that is not only attractive but also safe for all our learners. Tainui Full Primary School is developing strong home-school partnerships where our parents and whanau feel empowered and involved in their child’s education. We have a set of core expectations, which is known as the Tainui Way:
Respect, Responsibility, Honesty, and Excellence. We li
ve and breathe the Tainui Way. Regardless of ability, gender, race and personal circumstances we believe in setting up our children for success and that means providing the best opportunities we can so every child can reach their full potential. We provide a balanced and engaging curriculum for our learners. A curriculum that caters for individual needs. Some of the exciting opportunities we provide are:
• A Leadership pathway for all our children beginning at Year 1 as a Class Councillor to becoming a School Ambassador at Year 8. The children work towards meeting a range of skills and qualities as a leader.
• A House system, which encourages team spirit and allows the students from all ages to interact and build relationships across the school.
• An electives type programme, which is known as our Tainui Talents Friday for our Year 5-8 students, this involves Kapa Haka, Polynesian Performance Group, Orchestra, Choir, Art and Technology. In our Year 0-4 classes they are given similar opportunities.
• Enviroschools programme, an opportunity to be involved in a range of activities that implement sustainable practices and look to how we make decisions to improve the physical and social environment of our places, our community and our world.
