Today your child will be bringing home a pack of sunflower seeds. The Garden Club is holding a Sunflower Festival in December and the idea is that you take these seeds home, plant in soil and a container of your choice (make sure it has holes) and bring them back to school for the festival. We will be opening our Minecraft Shop next week where you can buy magic fertilisers, giant sunflower seeds and mystery eggs. More info to come!

Happy Tongan Language Week! ❤🇹🇴 Our new flags have arrived just in time!

The 2026 theme for Tongan Language Week (Uike Kātoanga'i 'o e lea faka-Tonga) is "Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga," which translates in English to "Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture."

The Garden Club was astonished to win First prize AND the People’s Choice award at the Eco Centre’s Junk to Funk Competition. Today we went and spent our $150 winnings- check out all the exciting things we were able to buy. Thanks to South Canterbury Eco Centre for such an awesome competition.

Today the Eco Leaders delivered our entry for the Eco Centre’s Junk to Funk competition. Over the last 5 weeks we have been busy gluing, drilling and creating! Head along to the Eco Centre (beside the Crow’s Nest) and check out over 50 other entries this Sunday 10-2pm.

Today the Garden Club roasted the bucket of yams we had dug up from our vegetable garden. (A massive thanks to Liz from Mitre 10 MEGA Timaru for helping us plant them last term.) During lunchtime we walked around the school with trays of them for the children to try. We were very happy to report that everyone loved them. It was great seeing so many children trying them for the first time. Next term we will dig our potatoes and try to make potato chips! We can’t wait!!
