Rainy day adventures!

The rain won’t stop us from getting outside and exploring! Jackets on, gumboots ready, and off we go to splash, stomp and discover all the wonderful things nature has to offer. There’s something so special about experiencing nature in the rain listening to the drops, jumping in puddles. Every rainy day is another opportunity for fun, curiosity and learning outdoors!

Craighead Kindergarten is a community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten in Timaru, with a strong history of supporting children and families in the local community.
Established in 1976, the kindergarten has been providing a nurturing early learning environment for many years.
Our kindergarten is licensed for up to 30 children and provides a welcoming, inclusive and family-focused environment for children from around 2½ years through to school age. Our wonderful Kindy is looking for a qualified and passionate ECE teacher to join our team as a reliever. We are looking for someone who is warm, nurturing and enthusiastic, with a genuine passion for supporting tamariki to learn, grow and thrive.

The ideal person will:
✨ Hold a recognised ECE teaching qualification
✨ Hold a current NZ Teaching Council practising certificate
✨ Have a strong understanding of Te Whāriki and play-based learning
✨ Be caring, enthusiastic and committed to quality early childhood education
✨ Build positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues
✨ Be reliable, flexible and confident working as part of a team
✨ Bring energy, creativity and a positive attitude to our learning environment

We are a friendly and supportive Kindy that values strong relationships, teamwork and creating a safe, nurturing and engaging environment for our tamariki.

Making Music Together 🎶💛

A huge thank you to our wonderful Ceebee Music for bringing so much joy, energy and fun into our kindergarten! Our tamariki absolutely love their music sessions and it’s beautiful to see them getting involved, singing, dancing and moving.

There are always plenty of smiles, laughter and enthusiasm as our tamariki join in and share the joy of music together. What a wonderful way to support their creativity, confidence and connection!
