The Temuka Primary School WAVE team had perfect weather for our recent visit to the Temuka Community Garden, it’s a short walk for us to get there.
Matthias’s Nana Tracey joined us for a picnic lunch, then we listened to volunteer Grant Morgan who had a wealth of information to share about composting worms, better yet was having the worms on display.
We finished our visit with some planting and had time for a quick play on our way back to school. Thank you to our community for helping to make learning hands on and fun.

The Project Zebra partners had a wonderful team of student ambassadors at Grantlea Downs who encouraged students walking, scooting, and biking to school along Bouverie St and Grants Road to cross safely at the pedestrian crossing using the Kerb drill and to walk their scooters and bikes when crossing the road during the week of Project Zebra.
A big shout out to the key partners: SC Road Safety, TDC, Timaru Police and to our NPHS Te Mana Ora health promotion kaimahi.

Project Zebra is running at Grantlea Downs kura this week. Student ambassadors are encouraging fellow students and whānau to use the pedestrian crossing on Grants Road, as the safer place to cross. Students receive house points and whānau go in the draw for a grocery voucher for ‘Gotcha Crossing Safely’.
