If you know of a family who is not currently at TCS but would like to enrol, please feel free to pass on this information.

Preschoolers enrolled at Timaru Christian Preschool are not automatically enrolled at our school. You will need to complete a form for them.

It was great to see Timaru Christian School friends from the past and present at our 30th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday. Thank you to Timaru Motors for providing the BBQ so we could feed our school whānau. See you at the 40th!

It was a pleasure to take the Year 9 and 10s on camp this week. The first day was spent at the Year 9/10 Christian Schools Athletics Competition. We had some outstanding results in spite of the cold, wet weather. Afterwards, we headed to Geraldine to camp for the night. The next day we practised safe group walking on tracks at Peel Forest together. A quick dip at Cbay as a reward for our efforts to end the trip. We had wonderful feedback about how well our children participated and behaved throughout. Great job, Kea!

Whew! What a day! This morning we headed to Kerikeri Mission Station where we visited the site of an ancient pa, and learned some contrasting views and opinions to what we had heard yesterday. It reminded us our history is very complex. We then took the ferry to Russell to visit the Pompallier Mission and Printery. We discovered the massive effort it took to print 40,000 karakia books which were gifted to the Maori people. We visited the oldest running church (Christ Church), complete with bullet holes, and the Russell Museum. After a return trip to the Treaty Grounds, the crazy ones amongst us went swimming in the beach and river. Home again tomorrow with our heads full of new knowledge, inspired and ready to share our learning with our students.

It's that time of year....the teachers have, once again, 'retreated' in search of new learning and to prepare for the year ahead. After a LONG journey yesterday, we arrived in Waitangi. Today we had a full day at the Waitangi Treaty Grounds learning about the Treaty and our country's history. There were lots of interesting new facts we learned and it was fantastic to hear about the positive impact the missionaries had. Mr Goulet was our Chief for the Cultural Performance and did a fantastic job speaking on behalf of the visitors. Tomorrow we will visit other significant historical sites, all with the aim to better understand our history so we can we inspire our children.
