A wonderful day today checking out the Pareora river for Enviro class! We will use our data to look at impacts on the river. Thanks to Keely from South Canterbury Museum who helped us find stream invertebrates.

Such a fantastic resource for South Canterbury.

Such a fantastic resource for South Canterbury.

We are overflowing with ideas after having a brainstorming session with local schools.

We hosted 14 people from 4 high schools and 3 primary schools along with Keely Kroening from the South Canterbury Museum and Debbie Eddington from Enviroschools / ECan.

We talked about things like senior assessment, Youth Ropu, connections with businesses, volunteer opportunities, holiday programmes and content.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone's time. We look forward to working together and hosting your students.

If your school was unable to attend, don't worry! This was just a brainstorming session and we will host schools again when we are open and have more of a plan.

Great opportunity 😊

Looking forward to meeting next week 😊

Next week Activator Alice, Ian from Venture Timaru, Danni from EnviroWaste and Debbie from Enviroschools are meeting with a group of local school teachers to discuss how the Eco Centre can best work with schools.

Where is a good place for us to get some afternoon tea goodies for the teachers that are coming along? πŸ€”πŸ˜‹

How cool is this large snakes and ladders! We would love to have this as part if our program for schools. This was at the Turanga Library in Christchurch.
