The countdown is on! In just ONE WEEK, JKA Timaru will proudly welcome Shihan Kunio Kobayashi, 7th Dan, JKA Headquarters Japan, to Timaru. 🇯🇵✈️🇳🇿

This will be Shihan Kobayashi’s first visit to New Zealand, and we are incredibly excited to have the opportunity to train, learn and be inspired by such a highly respected JKA instructor.

We look forward to welcoming karateka to Timaru for an unforgettable training experience filled with learning, friendship and true JKA spirit. 👊

We are incredibly proud of these 10 members of JKA Timaru Dojo who all successfully passed their Dan Examinations in December 2025.

This is a truly special milestone, the first time in our dojo’s history that so many students have graded at once… and achieved a 100% pass rate 👏

An achievement like this reflects discipline, consistency, resilience, and true karate spirit. Every one of you has earned this moment.
