Quick Chocolate factory tour in Brussels before we train it to London in the morning. Wish us luck to try navigate trains in london. I think it will be a bit manic at the moment but we will give it a bash. Last night of our whirl wind stops on these shores and on to a new one.

We had a lovely boat trip on the Seine before we spent hours at the Louvre. What an awesome museum. I could have spent days there. Mona was looking her best and so was the Venice De Milo. A mobile class outing would be good to go to here. You should have seen the history and the artefacts. Absolutely jam packed. Fascinating place!!Kathryn Livesey

Paris and half the Eiffel Tower done. I got to the second story and I just couldn’t will my legs to get in the summit lift. I patiently waited for Kathryn to head on up and met her on first floor. Off to the Louvre tomorrow. With Kathryn Livesey

Avignon done and on our way to Paris. The Provence tour was great. We visited some great wee places with some majestic views and Roman aqueducts and ruins. It was such fun such fun!! With Kathryn Livesey

Nice is nice! Very picturesque. Stunning scenery. Discovered loads of hidden wee places in the old town and beautiful views from Castle Hill (even Elton John’s mansion from one of the view points) with Kathryn Livesey

In Genoa last stop in Italy before we head to France tomorrow. Not our most favourite place in Italy!! It is an unusual place. Little narrow alleys but up and down with hills rather than flat. Also a port. Pretty buildings and rich history. With Christopher Columbus.

In Milan. Stunning architecture. Reminds me a bit of Paris. Full day of culture today. Museums and so forth. Leonardo Museum along with some other tourist attractions, and what a very clever man he (Leonardo)was. Think we might have to do a shopping designer tour tomorrow since we are in the fashion capital. Not as pretty as some of the other cities we have seen so far but by far also not the worst. Lovely end to today with a peach Bellini at Harry’s Bar. You were right Raewyn Guise - one drink each and the best part of 50 euros gone!!!!!

Arrived in Venice. Fast train on time. First class reservation sorted. No issues with trains in Italy. So far so good. We did a gondola ride this afternoon. I didn’t much like the rocking. Thought I was going to end up in the canal. We did a bit of a reconnaissance after that. We ended the day with a peach bellini at Harry’s Bar. Very nice Raewyn Guise. Kathryn Livesey has an injured leg. She nearly fell on top of a man on the train but he was spared that, by the table she landed on when the train did a swerve on the tracks.
