Sunday 9th August 4 of our Boarders, Jacob Burgess, Stirling Heffernan, Edward White, Matthew Innes, competed at the Aoraki Championships at the Timaru Clay and Target Club.

Stirling gained second place in the Point Score round.
Jacob won the Point Score round, Single Barrel and was awarded the overall High Gun winner.

After nearly 4 years in the job Darren has decided it is time to move on. It will be sad for us to see him go as he has been an outstanding Assistant Manager. This means we are about to begin looking for a new person to take on the role. If you know anyone looking for a job or career change then feel free to pass on the information below. I am happy to talk to anyone if they have questions regarding the role.

Congratulations to the following boys

Huge congratulations to Jacob Burgess (Year 13), Stirling Heffernan (Year 11), Edward White (Year 10), and Harvey Metcalf (Year 9), who represented TBHS at Sunday's intercollegiate trapshooting competition at the Timaru Clay Target Club!

The boys competed in a variety of events, including S***t and DTL (Single Rise, Points Score, and Single Barrel). A special shoutout to our podium finishers:

Jacob Burgess: 3rd place in Single Barrel

Stirling Heffernan: 2nd place in Points Score

Thank you to Ned Kelland, Matt Lovett, and Natalie Anderson from the TCTC for organising the event, and to the TBHS parents for running the catering. Great team effort!

We are very fortunate at Thomas House to have our Parents Committee financially support this years Driving Programme.

Who the programme is for:

- Open to full, restricted and learners license (nearly restricted, with parent support)

- Earns a certificate signed by Greg Murphy – great for CV and employers

- Builds safer driving habits and sharper decision-making behind the wheel

- Hands-on experience in a safe, controlled environment using their own car

- Helps prevent crashes and keeps young drivers (and others) safer

- Goes beyond basic defensive driving by tackling real-life scenarios and common myths

- Gives parents a chance to get involved if they wish, and better support their young driver
