Happy New Year everyone. I hope you were able to relax a little bit and spend time together as a family. I had a busy holiday full of family, friends and kittens. I will be starting back tutoring on the 9th Feb. You should have all received a message from me confirming day and time of your child's session. If you haven't, please let me know. I am looking forward to hearing about everyone's holidays and getting to know my new students better. See you all next week.

I just want to wish everyone a wonderful, relaxing Christmas and thank you all for such a great year. I have loved getting to know all my students, hearing about all their successes (big and small) and seeing their confidence grow. You are all awesome and just remember...... when we make a mistake it is a great opportunity to learn something new! Good luck to those that are leaving, if you ever need some help feel free to give me a call. Just a quick reminder to parents paying by automatic payment to stop over the holidays, unless you want to be super organised for next year. Have a merry Christmas and I look forward to seeing most of you next year.

Good luck to my students sitting NCEA exams. Remember to breathe, then read the questions and make sure you know what they are asking. You have got this. I believe in you. You are all awesome!

This time 5 years ago I was preparing for my first students in Timaru and feeling very nervous, not sure how things would go. Five years on and I’m now in my own place with an almost full timetable and on the verge of having to have a wait list. It has been a wonderful adventure and I have been blessed with great students and parents. I have had students come and go and sometimes come back again after having a break (my original students are now back with me).
I love seeing the smiling faces and hearing of real successes that they have had at school and at home. Sometimes it can be something big like getting top marks, other times it is those perceived smaller steps (which for some students are huge) like being able to explain how to do something to a friend or having the confidence to answer a question in class.
I would like to thank you all for trusting me with your children and for being so supportive. I can’t wait to catch up with you all in the next term and hear how your holidays have gone. I want to try and set goals with everyone this term, so if you can think about what you want to achieve this term before you come it would be great! Please let me know if you haven’t heard from me regarding your child’s tutoring slot. Thanks

Where have the holidays gone? Only a few more days until we are back into a new term. I hope everyone has had a great break and feeling refreshed. I have spent a lot of time renovating and moving into my new property. I feel like I need a holiday now to recover! But the big news is.............. We will be starting term 2 at 7 Memorial Ave! It's not 100% finished but it is ready for my students to come and have fun learning. I have included a picture of the place so that you know you are at the right place. Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Enjoy the last few days of the holidays.

Happy New Year everyone. I hope that you have had a great break and have had a chance to relax a little bit and enjoy some family time. I have had a wonderful break and have some exciting news to share with you all. Over the Christmas break I was able to find a property in Timaru to buy to run the tutoring from so hopefully from term 2 we will be on the move. I just have to fix a few floorboards and other bits before then. I now know how to lift carpet and sand and stain picnic tables. You are never too old to learn! Who knows what other skills I might have by next term.

Hopefully I have been in contact with everyone regarding the timetable for this term. If I haven't contacted you, then please let me know. We will be starting back in the week after Waitangi Day. My first day will be Monday the 10th Feb. I am looking forward to catching up with everyone and hearing how their break was.

Just a quick update to say that we will be starting back next week on the 12th, as my daughter gave birth last week to a beautiful baby girl. I had the privilege of looking after my 21 month old grandson while she was in hospital for 3 days. I had forgotten how energetic they are and that they believe in starting the day at unearthly hours. I'm ready to come back to tutoring for a break! I hope everyone has had a great start to the term and I will see you next week.

Happy New Year to everyone. It's hard to believe we are nearly into February already. I hope everyone had a relaxing break. I have had a wonderful time. I spent the first few weeks getting things sorted for the new term (I'm all planned and even washed all your homework folders!) and am now enjoying spending lots of time with my daughter and grandson as we wait for her baby to be born. I've lost track of how many books I have read or tunnels we have climbed through at the park!
You should have all received a text or message from me about when your child's session or sessions are and what date they will start back on. If you haven't then please contact me. At this stage my first session for the year will be on Monday the 12th. I am looking forward to seeing you all again and making this an even better year than last year (if that is possible). Have a great few days at school and remember....... You can do it, you just have to give it a go!

It's hard to believe we are into week 3 of this term already. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Labour Weekend and been able to enjoy the sun today.

Week 1's weekly challenge was an easier one. Almost all my students had a good idea of what it was. I then told them, that this term I want more details in their answers. I want to know how it was used in detailed steps. I must admit I did quietly laugh as some of them were discussing how to use the item and which order to do things.

This term students will only have 3 weeks to get each answer in before I start to post what each item is and how it was used. Week one needs to be in by the 30th October.
Have fun.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday. They went so quickly! Just a reminder that we start back tomorrow for this term. You should have all received a message from me, with your days and times on it. If you haven't, please, message me so I can sort it out. I have managed to get the mystery objects sorted for this term. The first one should be coming home this week. Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
