We had a fabulous day celebrating and fundraising for Daffodil Day today! It was a mash up of a Crazy Hair, Dress in yellow, Polar Plunge in the Awa kind of event! It even included a surprise visit from Constable Brian who taught us a thing or two about road safety and showed us his awesome police car!

Congratulations to all of our Cross Country participants and committee members who created such an awesome atmosphere during our school 'fun run' last week. 🎉🙌🏾 We also recognise our classroom assembly recipients today as well! Your leadership, positive attitudes, and dedication to learning, has set such a wonderful example for our whole school community. Ka nui te pai!! 🏅

Cross Country season is upon us and our student led committee decided we deserved a lil bit of fun while putting in the work to run this year! Ka mau te wehi! Awesome!

🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️ Puriri School Cross-Country & Fun Run 2026! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
Kia ora e te whānau!! ​What an absolute cracker of a day! Today, our school came together for our annual Cross-Country and Fun Run, and the atmosphere was amazing from start to finish.
​A massive shout-out and heartfelt thank you to:
​Our Amazing Parents & Whānau: Thank you for coming out in full force to cheer, support, and bring the epic sideline energy! Days like this show just how strong our school community is.
​Pepe Tuna: My incredible class did an outstanding job designing and setting up the fun run obstacle course! You built a course that had everyone laughing, jumping, and smiling the whole way through. Super proud of your hard work!
​Our Student Cross-Country Committee: You legends organised this entire event from the ground up! From planning the routes to managing the flow, your leadership made the day run seamlessly.
​School Staff: Thank you Whaea Lydia for firing up the BBQ and keeping everyone fueled up with a delicious sausage sizzle and juicies, Whaea Rene for hosting and support throughout the event and Lauren for her support also.
​It was so cool seeing all of our tamariki digging deep, giving it their absolute best, and then tearing through the fun run with huge smiles on their faces.
​Thank you to everyone who pitched in to make the day such a huge success.
