Temuka Alpines Offers A small selection of choice Alpine Plants

Temuka Alpines are getting ready to close for the winter.
We are closing on April 19th and reopening in September. We still have a good selection of plants for sale. My spring and autumn Gentians are now flowering, Celmisa Alpines X Semicordata have very Silver foliage and look very showy in winter when they get the frost on their silver spares .

Looks like summer decided to give a miss this year. The Autumn Gentians are starting to bud up already. Gentian Sino-nata is always the first.

My first post for 2026. To be honest, as we all know, the weather has hardly been garden-friendly. I have now got some old favourite plants plus some new plants available. Old favourites available are. Saxifraga Wendy. Sax oppositifolia Ruth Draper, Sax Lady Beatrix Standley. New plants. Carmichaelia of some sort. This is an NZ native, to be honest, I don't know a lot about it, but it does look interesting. Also Edraianthus pumilio. This is something a bit special, forming a cushion of hairy silvery-green leaves, and it gets covered in blue flowers. It loves limestone, and it's a little tricky to grow, but you are rewarded with a great show, with only a few plants available. Photos are shown in the order I have mentioned above.

I have a new summer flowering Gentian out. Seed grown Called Jade Star. A nice large flower. It's nice it has come out the day before Christmas. I did have this for sale a few years back but it's proven to be a little testing.

Those of you that are saying, what has happened to Temuka Alpines I have not seen a post for a while. My wife and I have been away for a week's break, but we are back. Come home to find new seedling Auricular's still flowering. Clematis Integrifolia on display in the garden. Plants available. Also available Lewisia Tweedyi or the new Name Lewisiopsis . Nice size plants that should flower early next year. This is the rolls Royce of the Lewisia's. Yes they are tricky to grow but the reward is stunning. I have love dream and Alba available

Looking for something to grow where it's very hot and sunny. These are what you need. Delosperma Congrstum Alba and Yellow, they are great in pots and tubs as well as that sunny spot under your eves. Also available Lewisia Snowberry. It has large white flowers with red stamens. This also likes the sun and being one of the x Longippetala Hybrid it's easy to grow. This week would be the best week to view the many Auricular's out also.

Good morning everyone. If anyone is interested in buying single Auricular's or Lewisia's now would be a great time to visit. With a lot of plants in flower, lots of colors. I am going to be around most of today and all weekend. Please message me 1st to save disappointment

A plant I expected to sell out of fast is still available. Celmisa Alpina x Semicordata. It's just starting to flower now . Great for a sunny spot it has a neat compact habit with spikey silver leaves. Worth a spot in any sunny rock garden or tub

More Auriculas. The first one is a UK seedling that I was going to keep for myself, but I have decided to let it go, plus a couple more that need a home. The next one is a divided one that was going to be on this year's list, but the plants were just a bit small at the time. They have come good now, I have called it Latte because of its colour. I still have plants of the Double red Auriculas. Also available Meconopsis Horridula ( Himalayan Poppy )
