Hello everyone,
I’m sure you are all wondering what is happening with Ngaroto club. My name is Harry and I have just taken up Nathaniel’s old role as head coach of the club. We are looking at running learn to sail programs similar to previous ones. Any other suggestions are welcome. Spread the word and come down for some fun and a sausage sizzle.

📢Cheeky update from our travelling team who hauled a Young 6 down south for a regatta this week:
💨Before💨 (RTB after getting AP over A'ed mid race 1 yesterday) and 🧊after🧊 (N over A before getting on the water).👎
Still confident that we,Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron (RNZYS) (YTP💪), Boptys Rotorua, and the Waikato Yacht Squadron will be represented well by Greg, Nathaniel, and Shelton in the classic lake race tomorrow - provided the sleet gives up by then... We also wish Winsome II well, crewed by Rob, Craig, and Corina of the local yacht squadrons and the Hamilton Yacht Club. Thanks Aviemore Classic for keeping our guys safe in the meantime!🤝

🎉Trailer yacht sprints are coming up!🎉 November 2nd (next Saturday!). We're running as many 10 minute sprints as we can in one day, so will postpone to the Sunday (3rd) if Saturday won't get it done. "Do it once, do it right!" We've been manoeuvering the club pretty aggresively and pinching close to the wind lately to make the most of our new boats and to adapt to conditions outside of our control. This means we've dropped some momentum, and need to bear away for a moment to speed build!
So what does this mean for you?
Learn to sail: we're taking a break next week before starting the next 5 week rotation - take this opportunity to suggest giving sailing a go to your friends! Applications close to new sailors on Friday the 11th.
Club racing: We postponed a club champs weekend a fortnight ago, which has bumped Paterangi Series races 5&6 off the calendar.
Weeknight racing: Business house and rum racing have been delayed to start at the end of the month/early next month respectively.
All these changes are illistrated on our calendar (on our website)!

Open day was a great success! Thanks to everyone who came out to support and enjoy the lake and our new boats, including the coaches who stayed on for some professional development afterwards. If you came along to the open day and liked what you saw, make sure to fill out a LTS application form if you're new, or a membership form if you're returning (both available on our website)!
