💫 A new Year 9 Initiative 💫

When handing out Mana Awards at out most recent Assembly, it hit me how many consistently good students were not being recognized. The ones who always do their work, always use manners, always put in their very best effort, never cause a disruption. The ones who truly make our job, as teachers, a genuine pleasure. I wanted a simple way to celebrate and thank them, for truly being the fine students they are. FAB FRY-DAYS started today. Hot chips, some fizz, and certificates to honour the fact that multiple teachers wanted to applaud these young people.

Kicking it off were the ones with the most nominations! What a pleasure to be in the company of; Angus Gregory, Jesse Sutherland, Max Wassell, Sophia Jayme, Summer Bell, Emily Sutcliffe, Natalie Donaldson, Sharon Ye, Aaliyah McLaren, Sophie Phillips, Hannah Corrigan (and Scarlett Wade and Kacey Healey who were absent, but first on the list for next week).

You may think there are times you go unnoticed, but trust me, we see you and we are grateful. You make me SO proud. Your Dean, Mrs Hagan 🤩

UPDATE – School Phone Outage

Unfortunately, the issue with our school phone lines is ongoing and will not be resolved today.

We have been advised that this is part of a wider national issue affecting our provider, N4L, and is therefore outside of the school’s control.

We apologise for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. We will provide a further update once we have confirmation that services have been restored.

Auditions are underway for the 2026 Te Aroha College Talent Quest. Our top acts will be performing in the final showcase on Tuesday 25th of August. Put this date in your calendars, and come along to support our amazing students! It is sure to be a night to remember!

This morning we had a Year 11 NCEA progress award assembly. Students received their certificates from Mr O'Leary for 30, 45 or 60 NCEA Level 1 credits plus their 25 or 40 Merit and Excellence credit certificates.

Mrs Wade is holding these assemblies every 3cweeks this term to help keep students motivated through Year 11.

🎪 Tonight's the Night! 🎪

The Te Aroha College 2026 Circus Ball is happening tonight, and we can't wait to celebrate an incredible evening with our students.

Our students and their families will begin arriving from 6.00pm. The event will conclude at 10.30pm.

If you're in the area this evening, you may notice a little more traffic than usual around the college as students arrive in style for one of the highlights of the school year.

Thank you to our neighbours and wider Te Aroha community for your understanding and support. We hope everyone enjoys seeing our students dressed to impress, and we wish them a safe, memorable and magical evening.
