Our philosophy states: At Brian Webb kindergarten we are committed to creating an environment of respect and belonging for all families. We value the dual heritage of Aotearoa and the use of Tikanga and Te Reo Maori is an integral part of our kindergarten culture. As an inclusive community of life-long learners we promote the on-going development of competent and independent learners with a strong

sense of self-worth. These aspirations are achieved by building on children’s prior knowledge and experiences. We extend this learning through challenge, share understanding and enquiry in an enthusiastic, positive and consistent environment. We have a large outdoor play area with safety surface, concrete area, flat grass area and sloping banks to challenge and extend children. Also two large areas covered with shade cloth as well as the double sandpit. A Protected outdoor area so water play and carpentry can be available daily. We are an established team, constantly keeping abreast of latest trends and thinking in Early Childhood. We have high expectations of ourselves as educators and have high expectations of our children and their growing autonomy. We work hard to form strong relationships with parents, whanau and community. We are involved with our local Kohanga Reo on a regular basis where we come together in partnership to learn from each other sharing a strong sense of ako. We have a strong bond with all the schools and other kindergartens in Tawa which provides an important link between kindergarten and your child going to school. We have regular transition to school visits with Hampton Hill School.
