Introducing Pin'd
Global Connexions, the brainchild of Bay of Plenty textile and technology teachers, started in 2004 and is now in its twelfth year with the 2015 show. This year the show has been rebranded. We needed a brand that would speak to the vision of the awards in 2015 and going forward. A brand that inspires creativity, encourages participation and excellence. We have taken inspiration from the sewing room to create a flexible and evolving brand going forward. In the name, we wanted to speak to both the pride of participating – in pinning something to your chest – and the detail that's involved in creating a winning garment or textile – pin point accuracy. Introducing Pin'd Creative Showcase. Pin'd is all about pride in achievement – a true badge of honour for students. The Pin’d designer show case is a fashion design competition open to garments and textile art designed by intermediate and secondary school Textile students.

Happy new year everyone!
2022 has begun with some great news... After much delay, we are finally able to share with you the photography from our 2021 show!
Our sincerest apologies for the time it has taken to get these to you all and deepest gratitude for your patience while we have worked behind the scenes to make it happen.
It won't be long before sections for Pin'd 2022 are up on our website, but for now enjoy these images of all your hard work!

Hi Everyone,

We’ve had a lot of people asking about the photos from this year’s show and when they will be released on the website, so this is just a quick update to let you all know what is happening.

Unfortunately, our photographer from the event was taken ill with a serious heart infection a few weeks ago and has been unable to get the photos to us yet. This was sad news to receive and we are all hoping for her swift recovery.

I’m the meantime, please be patient and considerate as we try to work with her to get the photography out to you all. This will be done as soon as possible.

Each year we award a brand new sewing machine or overlocker to the top in workmanship for Junior, Year 11, and Senior entrants!
This is a highly sought after award, so remember to trim those threads and press those seams! The smallest detail could make all the difference!
