As kaiako we often have an idea how things may be used when we set up each morning....often the tamariki have far more creative ideas than us. This group of friends enjoyed trapping all the lids in one part of the water trough then releasing it and watching the lids travel down with the water. We love seeing all the fun and creativity.

Sometimes life as a toddler is a lot...what better way to ground yourself than to take some deep breaths of fresh air out in nature, put your feet in some gooey mud, or ride fast on a bike. Our property time is so good for the body, mind and soul, for tamariki and kaiako alike.

Learning to play with others takes caring support, encouragement and patience. Through play, tamariki develop so many important skills, including negotiation, language, problem-solving, resilience, perseverance and empathy.

As kaiako, it is incredibly rewarding to see relationships blossom through shared experiences, as tamariki learn to communicate, collaborate, navigate challenges and enjoy the joy of playing together.
