A huge thank you to Barfoot & Thompson for their ongoing support of our school! Our Kea children are absolutely loving their new Learning through Play equipment.

We’d also like to extend a special thanks to the team for providing a sausage sizzle at our Art Exhibition Open Afternoon last week. With community support, over $600 was raised for our Outdoor Shade Canopy!

Help shape a safer journey to school on Vale Street


Tauranga City Council is proposing changes to Vale Street, between Landscape Road and Bureta Road, to improve safety, accessibility and active travel choices.

The proposal includes:

A shared ‘on-road’ walking and cycling path from Landscape Road to Bureta Road
A pedestrian refuge island near the Vale Street and Grange Road intersection

These improvements aim to support safer and more accessible travel for students, whānau and the wider community travelling to local schools, shops and public transport.

This proposal has been developed in response to community safety concerns and aims to support safer, more accessible active travel options.

It's almost time!

Our Art Exhibition is just around the corner, and our artists are putting the final touches on their masterpieces before we open the doors!

This Thursday, 17th September
2:00pm – 3:00pm
4:30pm – 6:00pm: A Coffee Cart and Barfoot & Thompson-sponsored Sausage Sizzle will be on-site during the evening session.

Tomorrow is the start of Te Wiki o te Reo Māori. This year's theme is Ake, Ake, Ake - A Forever Language.

Under this theme, the focus is Tāone Reo Māori - Te Reo Towns, celebrating the communities, streets, and local spaces that keep te reo Māori alive, visible, and valued, and help it flourish.

Each day of Te Wiki, we have activities and events planned across our kura to recognise and celebrate Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

On Monday, eight of our Moa students represented Pillans Point at the Tauranga Book Battle. This exciting reading competition challenged the students to read several chapter books and work together to answer multiple-choice questions about each one. Our teams showed excellent teamwork, communication, and determination throughout the morning, supporting one another and sharing their knowledge to tackle some challenging questions. They achieved an impressive 8th equal place out of 26 teams, which is a fantastic result! Most importantly, the students had a wonderful day, enjoyed celebrating their love of reading, and represented our school with pride. We are incredibly proud of the way they worked together and embraced the challenge!

Road Works Update from TCC - Andrew Place & Shelley Street

Please be aware that road resurfacing works will be taking place on Wednesday 2 September and Thursday 3 September, which may affect school drop-off and pick-up arrangements.

Wednesday 2 September
• Shelley Street will be closed (property owner access only)
• Families are encouraged to use Andrew Place for parking and access

Thursday 3 September
• Andrew Place will be closed (property owner access only)
• Families are encouraged to use Shelley Street for parking and access

Pedestrian monitors will be on site to assist students and help ensure safe access to and from the school pathway.

Please allow a little extra time for drop-off and pick-up and take extra care around the work site.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation while these important maintenance works are completed.

Our Moa rugby team competed in the Kakahu Pekepeke 7’s tournament at Mitchell Park yesterday. We played hard and showed awesome sportsmanship. We had some close matches and ended up 7th out of 20 teams. A massive thank you to Henry for coaching our boys 🏉.
