Today at our Monday Message we celebrated our awesome Bookmark Award winners, learnt about the science behind why we need to wash our hands with soap and had some timely reminders around our Wednesday Challenge active travelling and making sure we listen to our Year 6 road patrollers when crossing the road.

During the day today we had a practice lockdown to make sure everyone knows our safety procedures in the unlikely event of a real emergency.

Our tamariki and kaiako did a great job, staying calm and following all the steps brilliantly. Running these drills helps us check our systems and keep our school a safe place for everyone.

Our SRP ākonga have been making the most of the beautiful winter sunshine, enjoying the fresh, crisp air while spending time outdoors.

Our Garden to Table classes have also been busy creating delicious homemade treats. Using fresh ingredients, the students made a vibrant pesto and baked some scrumptious muffins. It's wonderful to see them building practical skills, working together, and enjoying the rewards of their hard work from garden to table!

At our Monday assembly, we celebrated our Kids on the Ridge who received Bookmark Awards for actively growing their heart, mind, and toolbox. Ka pai, team!
Our Wednesday Challenge crew shared last week’s results.
Room 2 lead us all in a a bouncy bouncing action song and Whaea Shelley brought us Part 2 of our resilience focus using our BOUNCE BACK strategies:
B – Blame fairly
A – Accept what can’t be changed
C – Catastrophising exaggerates your worries
K – Keep things in perspective
Sometimes little bumps, tricky moments, or tough days happen. When they do, we know we can BOUNCE BACK!

You may have noticed the snazzy new speed sign just before the pedestrian crossing on Victory Street 🚸 New 30km/h school zones 🚸 From today - Wednesday 5 August, our sign reminding us of the 30km/h speed limits during school drop-off and pick-up times will be live.

Slower speeds give drivers more time to react and helps keep tamariki and whānau safe.

Welcome to term 3! Welcome to term 3!

Kia ora Team Tūī for hosting our celebration assembly today. Our MCs did a great job - way to go Jaxon, Pippa and Bodhi!
Tūī team shared their learning so far this term, strong messages about kindness and we got to see how our youngest learners celebrated reaching 100 days at school this week! Congratulations to our team award winners - your learning is soaring high.

Little red sausages, burger rings, ginger crunch and crunchie bars were on the menu at morning tea today as we celebrated NZ Principals' Appreciation Day. Of course we appreciate the dedication,commitment and fun with which Craig leads our kura every day but today was a chance to acknowledge him with just a little extra aroha...and indulge his unique taste in treats! So many kids caught soaring high to celebrate at Monday hui today! Whaea Shelley also reminded us about the importance of our Bounce Back strategies and Tilly and Addilyn introduced a new Wednesday challenge..with prize money attached! Have a great week everyone!

We're very grateful to a former kid on the ridge, Sophie, a professional dance teacher, who is volunteering her time for dance club for our tamariki on Tuesday lunchtimes. Thanks so much for giving this opportunity to our akōnga Sophie!
