What a great start to the week! Today's assembly was packed with powerful messages from talented speakers and actors. The Tūī Team reminded us of a wonderful message, that while we might not be "best friends" with everyone, we can always choose to be friendly and kind. A big shoutout to Evie, Jahsiah, and Jackson, who did an amazing job as the Tūī MCs. Our Road Safety Team took the stage to share some important reminders to keep us all safe. Next Wednesday (the final week of term), we have a special ‘Fun Gate Activation’ coming your way - more information will follow soon from the team.
And finally, a big congratulations to all our award winners today - thank you for being extra awesome this week!

A fabulous hui this morning celebrating our very successful Readathon. We raised $13373,00! What a great effort everyone. Special congratulations to our top ten fundraisers; Oakleigh, Bella, Jedd, Georgie, Cameron, Ekas, Lexi, Izaiah, Finn and Cassidy and our winning class room 1 and winning team Tui. Room 1 will be treated to a pizza lunch next term and Team Tui a special non-uniform book party day. Ngā mihi nui koutou!
We also congratulated our soaring high award winners and our Western Bay cross country athletes Elijah, Taylor, Hunter, Kyra and Meila. Extra special congratulations to Meila who qualified for the Bay of Plenty championships. Have a great weekend everyone! Go the Hurricanes!

Last photo post!! Readathon photos have been so much fun. Our shared mission has highlighted all the joy to be found in books. And we've raised a decent amount of money as well! We will reveal the grand total at celebration hui tomorrow. Please make sure you get your completed bookworms to the box in the office BEFORE assembly tomorrow if you want to be in the prize draw. Good luck everyone and ngā mihi tino tino nui for all the support for this initiative. He aroha nō mātou ki ngā pukapuka i Selwyn Ridge!

$11728 is a lovely number! That's where we are at with Readathon fundraising tonight. Miharo whānau. Together we do amazing things!! How much of a nudge do you reckon we can give that total before the Readathon finishes on Friday?

We were reading all over the place this weekend! Today at Monday message we celebrated our amazing efforts in the Readathon. We have cracked the
$10,000 mark! Keep it up whānau! Completed Readathon "worms" need to be in the box in the office by Friday morning to make it in to the prize draw at Friday celebration hui.

Looks like there was lots of reading going on whilst your kaiako were busy learning about writing today. Keep it up over the weekend tamariki ma. Remember there's still time to go into the draw for the hand-held gameboy if you're registered on the fundraising website by Monday. Looking forward to some prize draws for all the awesome pictures at Monday message too! We're not far from that magical $10,000 number!

Day 4 and we have surpassed the $9000 mark in our Readathon fundraising. Tumeke whānau ma! Love the way the whole whānau is getting involved. Babies and pets even!

Ko te manu e kai ana i te mātauranga, nōna te ao...the bird that feeds on knowledge feeds the world! We love our pukapuka and are continuing to find all sorts of novel places to read them. Day 3 of the SRP Readathon and our total is more than $8,300!!
