Unfortunately on Friday afternoon a young boy on an e-scooter did extensive damage to our turf. We would like to make contact with this individual so we can resolve this issue.

COMMUNITY NOTICE: Liz van Welie Aquatics (LVWA) is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Baby Swimming Teacher to join their team!

They are a busy swim school and coaching programme based in Tauranga, catering for swimmers from parents and babies through to school-aged children, competitive swimming, fitness and triathlon squads.

They are currently looking for one or two teachers to join their weekend team, specifically teaching baby classes on Sundays, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts throughout the week (mostly evenings) for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a swimming teacher, you will:

🏊‍♀️ Teach babies and children using the LVWA curriculum and lesson plans, while adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual swimmers.
🏊‍♀️ Ensure lessons start on time and use effective time management to maximise swimming and learning time.
🏊‍♀️ Support swimmer progression by tracking development within lessons and through our online programme.
🏊‍♀️ Communicate positively with parents about their child’s progress.
🏊‍♀️ Build strong relationships with swimmers, families, fellow teachers and management.
🏊‍♀️ Follow all LVWA health and safety policies and procedures.
🏊‍♀️ Attend required staff training and development sessions.

🌟 About You
They are looking for someone who:

🏊‍♀️ Is 18 years or older.
🏊‍♀️ Is looking for long-term employment.
🏊‍♀️ Has a positive, friendly and engaging personality and enjoys working with children and families.
🏊‍♀️ Has experience working with babies and parents, or has strong swimming knowledge across freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
🏊‍♀️ Has a good character and the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.
🏊‍♀️ Is reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn and develop as a teacher.
🏊‍♀️ Swimming qualifications and/or teaching experience are a bonus, but not essential — we are happy to train the right person.

This position reports to the Swim School Coordinator.

As we head into the end of Term 3, 2026, we are beginning the exciting process of looking ahead and planning for the future of our school, learners and community.

Under updated Ministry of Education guidelines, we are currently developing a two-year strategic plan for 2027–2028. This plan will map out our school’s key priorities, resource allocation, and goals to ensure every single child at Greenpark School is supported to thrive.

To make sure our goals reflect the genuine priorities, needs, and aspirations of our local community, we need your voice. We have put together a quick, simple Google Forms consultation survey to gather your feedback. It should take no more than 10 minutes to complete.

Classes with the highest percentage of survey completion will be rewarded.

Survey closes 3.00pm Thursday 15 October.

Enrolments are now open for BaySwim Term 4 swimming lessons at Baywave, Greerton, Ōtūmoetai, Dave Hume Pool, Katikati and Te Puke Memorial Pool. Whether children are just starting their swimming journey or looking to further develop their skills, BaySwim's award-winning learn2swim programme helps build confidence, improve technique, and develop essential water safety skills.

School Holiday Lessons are also available at Baywave and Greerton. These short, targeted sessions are a great way to keep children active during the holidays while accelerating swimming progress before Term 4 begins. See details on flyers below.

He mihi nui ki a koutou!

To round off Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori, we sent our junior and senior Kapa Haka rōpū to perform at Rā Whakangahau. What a wonderful way to celebrate te reo Māori, culture and the incredible talent of our ākonga!

Our tamariki did Greenpark Kura proud, representing our school with confidence, enthusiasm and mana. Ka mau te wehi, Greenpark!
