Bite sized opportunities are delivered for the community to not only follow their dreams and passion for various art forms but increase well-being and connectedness .

End your weekend on a high with Incubator resident artist Laura Neundoerfer .studio 🌼

In this workshop you’ll explore textured painting, a technique where paint is mixed and applied in thicker layers to create depth on the canvas. Instead of focusing on perfect brushstrokes, it’s about playing with shapes and movement. It’s surprisingly freeing and a lot of fun!

Aotearoa Cultural & Volunteer Exchange has been showing off the best of the Bay of Plenty to a crew of art therapy students, clinicians, and professors from the US, and today they landed at the Creative Campus!

They got stuck into a guided exploration of Te Tae o te Taiao with Rhian Smith ToiRhi and Hayley Smith, plus a discussion on innovative practices with local art therapist Jennie Halliday. Throw in some kai, good chats, and a wander through the The Historic Village, Tauranga - a pretty solid day if you ask us 👍🏼

Such a treat to host this awesome crew and share in their creative experience. Art enriches wellbeing and healing - wherever you're from! 🌿🖌️🎨🌏

We're thrilled to welcome Kim Fifield Art as our special guest!

Kim is a Bay of Plenty-based multidisciplinary visual artist whose curiosity and thirst for understanding drives her to experiment and create. Her practice spans a wide range of media – fine art, children's book illustration, graphics, and beyond – she's always exploring new creative territory.

Her current work is fascinating – exploring ecology, material transformation, and the hidden knowledge carried by overlooked materials. Think cultivated root systems, algae-based bioplastics, biomatter, and discarded publications. Kim treats her materials as active collaborators, not passive mediums.

Kim's practice weaves together women's labour, domestic and ecological knowledge, waste, bodies, and the fragile relationship between human and non-human life.

You might know Kim from Matter Gallery in the Mount, or from her time at The Incubator's Villa Studios. Lately? She's been making objects from kitchen compost. Yes, really. 🌱

Come along, hear what Kim's been up to, share your own work, and connect with fellow artists in Tauranga Moana.
