Ōropi School

Ōropi School Oropi is an amazing decile 8 School situated approximately 13 kilometres up Oropi Road from State Highway 29.

Ōropi School is a vibrant rural primary school situated approximately 13 kilometres up Oropi Road, catering for Years 1–8, where children are encouraged to explore, take risks, and develop a love for lifelong learning. The current roll is 355 children of ages 5 to 13 ( Years 1- 8 ). We have 15 full time teachers, 6 part time teachers, 10 part time support staff. The location of our school affords both staff and students a tranquil rural environment in which to work and learn, and also provides our students with extensive outdoor areas in which to engage in co-operative play and participate in a variety of sporting codes. Our students experience the benefits of a rural lifestyle, combined with the opportunities presented within the urban areas of Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Our students display a positive attitude towards school and learning, participate enthusiastically in all components of our school programme, and are encouraged to strive for their personal best in all their endeavours. Our staff display a high level of professionalism in their delivery of quality learning experiences, and are able to address individual learning needs as a result of an excellent teacher/student ratio at all levels within the school. Staff are kept up to date with strong professional development opportunities and provide regular reporting of student achievement to families. ICT is one key component of our programme and is integrated across the curriculum. Our school is governed by a focused and forward thinking Board of Trustees, and proactive PTA which supports quality teaching and learning through the provision of quality resources, teaching aids, and equipment.

What an incredible two weeks in Korea and Japan, connecting with prospective international students and their families! 🇰🇷🇯🇵

During my travels, I attended three education fairs and visited several schools, proudly sharing everything that makes our school and wider community such a special place to learn and grow. We’re excited about the possibility of welcoming students from Japan in the near future!

While in Korea a real highlight was catching up with Eunice, Aiden, Celina and Olivia, along with their wonderful parents.
We miss them dearly, so seeing everyone again was an absolute treat! 💛

I’m now home with a grateful heart, some awesome memories and many exciting new connections.
