I'm incredibly proud of this group of students.
Yesterday we ran a stripes grading, everyone passed, and the ex*****on of techniques was so good that everyone double graded and a grading I thought would take two hours was completed in just 90 minutes.
Everyone performed their techniques with power and accuracy, very impressive.

The benefits of a greater commitment from the students, more consistent training, and an attitude where the entire group is pursuing excellence is really paying off.

Well done guys!!

I just want to acknowledge the progress of our junior Taekwon-Do students this term. Yesterdays class was literally the best junior Taekwon-Do session I have ever taken, as a group their technique, attitude & performance were exemplary.

They have really stepped up, & are training more consistently (2-3 x per week), with great purpose, and it really shows.

This new attitude to training is getting great results, with a growing group of committed students, competing regularly, achieving great grading results, and progressing through the syllabus faster than ever before.

Well done guys!!

The future of our Junior Taekwon-Do programme is looking very bright, and we're excited to see what these students can achieve over the remainder of the year.

Last night marked Grand Master Rimmer's final class as Head Instructor at Hwa Rang Taekwon-Do at TMAA.

We were fortunate to have members of Silla Taekwon-Do join us for the evening, making it a fitting opportunity to acknowledge Grand Master Rimmer's contribution to Taekwon-Do in Tauranga and throughout the wider region over many years.

On behalf of TMAA, Hwa Rang, and all the students and families whose lives have been positively impacted by his teaching, thank you for your dedication, leadership, and service to the art.

While Grand Master Rimmer is stepping back from the Head Instructor role, he will continue to be involved in senior training and the wider ITKD community moving forward.

For our students, classes continue as normal and we are excited about the future as we continue building a strong, positive, and engaging Taekwon-Do programme under the leadership of Mr Genti and our instructor team.

ITKD Veteran's Camp

Hello Students & Parents,

We will be holding a pre-grading at TMAA this Tuesday 2/6/26, during regular class time in preparation for the upcoming colour belt grading on 2/7/26.

If you are interested in grading on 2/7/26, we strongly encourage you to attend so we can assess your current progress. Our aim is to hold the pre-grading early enough to provide feedback and give students a couple of weeks to work on any areas needing improvement.

We have already spoken with some students and indicated that we would like them to aim for this grading.

We will also be testing the theory component of the grading within the following 7 days, so please make sure you are studying and preparing for this as well.

Congratulations to Amerie our Hwa Rang SOTW.

Amerie is a very active competitor, recently some of the calls competing have not gone her way, but she has shown great resilience in taking those calls in her stride and just moving forward with her own personal development and deep commitment to training. Not to mention she has absolutely tremendous technical kicks, which are becoming a great overwhelming presence in her sparring.

Well done Amerie, there are very bright things to come in your martial arts future.
