We are excited to once again participate in the Water Skills programme offered by Bay Swim at the Greerton Pools as part of our Physical Education programme. Thanks to generous donors, this programme is free and all students are expected to particpate.

This programme will take place every Thursday during Term 3 starting Week 1 - 23rd July 2026. Students will be transported via bus to and from school. Please ensure that your tamaiti / tamariki come to school prepared with togs, towel and a bag for wet clothes. Please make sure all swimming gear is named. Any specific information related to individual classes will be communicated with you directly by your child's teacher.

If your child is sick and unable to swim on any particular Thursday, please inform your their kaiako (teacher).

If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact the school office.

Please note Year 3s will continue to only swim on Tuesdays at Liz Van Welie Aquatics as they have done so far this year.

As you are aware, we have Parent Teacher Conferences in 2 weeks time on Friday 31st July. Bookings are open. During these conferences, kaiako will further discuss the Progress Descriptors that were in your students latest report and answer any questions you may have about your child's progress.

Please see the notice attached that explains how to book within Hero. If you are already on Hero, go straight to Step 2.

Last week some Room 5, 7, 8 and Te Awanui tauira (students) were given a notice for them to attend the 'Matariki for Tamariki' production at Bay Court on Tuesday 30th June. Please make sure the permission slip at the bottom is signed and returned by Monday 29th June if you wish them to attend. If you have misplaced the notice, you can write a note for your child to give to their teacher saying you give them permission.

On Thursday 25th June we will be celebrating Matariki at school. Please join us in the school hall at 11:30am where we will have performances by our Junior and Senior Kapa Haka groups. During this time we will have some games and waiata for whānau to be involved in as well as spot prizes for fun Matariki questions and kai hampers to give away. Please make sure you get a ticket when you come into the hall, look after it as this could be the winning ticket to one of our kai hampers. At 12:30 we will have sausages for whānau and Ka Pai Kai (our lunch providers) are kindly providing a hangi lunch for tamariki. Our Matariki Celebration will finish at 1:00pm. We look forward to seeing you there.

Can you help tomorrow - Friday 12 June 2026. We would love some help to move mulch around the school garden, if you can spare an hour or 2 then please come up to school around 9am - 9.30ish and bring a shovel. We have a pile of mulch that needs to be moved and could really do with some help :)

REMINDER : Tomorrow, Wednesday 27 May is the school cross country day.

The event will start with the junior students at 9.45am followed by the senior students.

Tamariki can dress in their house colours and will earn house points for participation.

Whānau are very welcome to come along and support the runners.

We have been advised by Te Whatu Ora that there is whooping cough in our community.

The advice is for whanau to be aware and seek medical attention if you are concerned.

Whooping Cough In Children Whooping cough can make pēpi (babies) very sick and some pēpi can die. Having whooping cough vaccination in pregnancy protects pēpi in their first weeks of life. Start vaccinating pēpi the day they turn 6 weeks old to keep protecting them.
