We've gained quite a few new members to our Bobs Gas Facebook whānau over the last few weeks, so we reckon it's about time we introduced you to our super cool directors!

Most of you will already know them, and you've probably seen them around town. But if not, say kia ora to Ron and Louise 👋

When they're not helping keep the wheels turning at Bobs Gas, you'll often find them giving back to our local community in all sorts of ways. Their latest adventure? Taking part in the Ōtanewainuku Kiwi Listening Survey 🍃

This wasn't exactly a stroll in the park either...

🌲 1 hour walking into the ngahere
🌙 2 hours sitting quietly in the dark
👂 Listening for kiwi calls
🥶 Providing valuable scientific data while slowly turning into human popsicles

The survey is helping gather valuable information about our local kiwi population, and this was the first survey of its kind in around 25 years!

We're pretty lucky to have directors who are passionate about supporting the communities and environments we call home.

So next time you see Ron and Louise out and about, be sure to give them a wave... although if they're sitting quietly in the bush at midnight, maybe don't. The kiwi might not appreciate it! 😆

🚛 Just a casual Tauranga to Christchurch road trip… because when you’re carting multiple loads of cylinders, flying home isn’t really an option. 😂

Our Director Ron and his dad Keith took the scenic route home via Picton and the Interislander, while senior driver Miles kept things rolling behind the scenes. Along the way they managed to snap some pretty epic photos too 📸🌄

Safe to say the South Island roads, tunnels and ferry lights made the new setup look right at home ✨🚛

A lot of kilometres, a lot of coffee ☕, probably a few questionable pies 🥧… almost another mission completed safely 😅

The boys are still making their way home, so if you see them out on the roads, don’t forget to give them a toot and a wave 👋🚛

All stores will be open Friday 29th from 8am - 5pm. Our Kopu and Whakatane stores will be open on Saturday 30th May - 9am to 1pm, to get your last minute fills before the long weekend 😁

Due to the road closures and flooding today we have decided to close our store early for safety precautions and to allow our staff to return home safely.

Bobs Gas and Cylinder Services Tauranga is one of the longest established test stations in the country. Our test mark has been around since the mid 70's passing though several owners and company name iterations.

We are an IANZ accredited test site with a long history, that you can absolutely trust with your life.

We test large numbers of SCBA and SCUBA cylinders every year, all year long. Trusted by emergency services, private and commercial divers, and industry day in and day out.

We have a large site with plenty of parking and our drive through layout even accommodates boats. So stop in on the way to or from the water and don't battle traffic or poor parking to get your dive cylinders tested and or filled.

Given recent weather it would be easy to wonder if it really was going to happen!

Before we know it we will be packing for time away with friends and family. As kiwis this will often mean time on or under the water.

Don't forget to get your dive cylinders sorted .. before the last minute rush.

Now is the time to drop them in for a visual or hydro so you can be sure they are safe and able to be filled.
