MOJO DOJO

You might think this is just another martial art post. But it's not! It's a story about passionately prepared food.

Emma and I took a day trip to Rotorua.
We went to visiting some of our Rotorua "family" and walking the redwoods.

We were introduced to Jason and the Mojo Dojo holistic food eatery.
Jason's food journey story is inspiring.
The food prepared for us within Jason's dietary protocols felt balanced , complete and tasty.
If you are looking for a good meal out, Mojo Dojo holistic food hit the spot for our lunch.
1070 Eruera st Rotorua
Thanks Jason

EIGHT SECTION BROCADE
Qi Gong
Breath and movement.

Historically speaking Qi Gong is a methodology of restorative exercise.
Designed to rebuild the body after weakening caused by severe illness or injury.
Throughout Asia many forms of Qi Gong have developed because of the recognized benefits.
A great example of this can be seen in martial arts, many different styles have integrated Qi Gong into the warm up and exercise components of their training. QI Gong makes for a great addition to your training regime whether you are just getting started or are already a finely tuned athlete.
Viewing the 12-body systems as the tapestry of the living body, the EIGHT SECTION BROCADE sequence restores postural alignment, encourages mobility and coordination and builds stamina.
In this workshop the sequence will be divided into two sets of four. Giving you time to got familiar with the sequence.

Tai Chi Kung Fu Fan 52 form

This fan form is a great way to extend your knowledge and performance of tai chi. The Reeling Silk positive and negative circles are very prominent. Just like the first form (Yilu) . The fan form has 52 moves divided into 6 sections. Breaking forms down into sections is a common formula and often sections will start with moves that are repeated from previous sections. Effectively there is only 5 sections to learn in the fan form because the fourth section is a complete repeat of the second section. Although the words Kung Fu are typically used to describe Chinese martial arts a more accurate translation of Kung Fu is PERFECTION THROUGH REPETITION so this workshop will be an intro to practicing Tai Chi with a fan. The fan adds the elements of Grace and Dynamics to your Tai Chi practice.

As a seedling is cabbage was given to us as "payment" for treatment from a client who suffered adverse reactions, couldn't work no income!
That client is now on the road to recovery and back to work. We are all healthier from the exchange. Wayne

Side bends (Lateral movement) has been a part of vertebrate life-forms for 1 1/2 billion years, and could be considered the precursor to forwards and backwards bending (dorsal-ventral movement).
In this class we will be looking at simple but effective lateral exercises along with increasing mobility in the transition from one floor posture to another and then importance of quadrupedal movement.

Sitting down: why you're doing it all wrong Dr. Herman Pontzer has studied the Hadza people and found that the way they rest is different - and they are healthier for it. He says by engaging in more active resting postures while stationary, as the Hadza do, we can boost our longevity.

A fresh look at movement and rest. drawing on knowledge from an
: evolutionary perspective
: embryological prospective
: TCM prospective
Looking at the similars of vertebrates, the similars of mammalians,
And definitely early childhood development.
There needs to be an adjustment in our daily habits of movement and rest if we are to help reduce the incidence and severity of muscular skeletal distress and our tendency to fall over as we get older. (Referenced Phillip Beach)
This class is an opportunity to spend time looking at the archetypal postures for recovery and tuning the body for movement.
Both practical and theoretical components are historically simple giving you take home information that is easy to remember.
