We are very excited to share that Tannah has been promoted to our Deputy Head Directress (2IC)! at Scuola Montessori ( 15th Avenue).

Tannah is a fully Qualified Early Childhood Qualified teacher, with a Montessori Diploma 3-6 years and brings so many wonderful strengths to our Centre. Her calm and caring nature, dedication to our tamariki, Montessori knowledge, and commitment to supporting both children and kaiako make her such a valued member of our team.

We are incredibly proud to see Tannah step into this leadership role and look forward to seeing her continue to grow, share her knowledge, and support our Scuola community.

🌼 Fancy Friday – Daffodil Day! 🌼

What a beautiful day of yellow at Scuola 15th Ave, as we celebrated Daffodil Day and supported the Cancer Society. 💛

Our tamariki enjoyed dressing in yellow, helping decorate our special daffodil cupcakes, and sharing a lovely morning tea together. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate manaakitanga/ kindness, caring and supporting others.

A big thank you to our whānau for joining in and supporting this special cause. 🌼💛

🌱 A Special Visit at Scuola Montessori Waihi Road

This week we welcomed two adorable 3‑week‑old guinea pig girls which we have named Skittles and Ted to our classroom. They are still very young, but once they are fully weaned, they will come to live with us here at Scuola Montessori as part of our community.

The children were delighted by the visit. They took turns gently patting the guinea pigs, observing their soft fur, tiny movements, and curious squeaks. Moments like these help children develop care, empathy, responsibility, and respect for living creatures — all core Montessori values brought to life.

🧸 Teddy Bear Picnic Day! 🧺

What a fantastic day we had celebrating our Teddy Bear Picnic! Our tamariki had so much fun taking part in a range of teddy bear-themed activities, and it was wonderful to see everyone so engaged and excited throughout the day.

The children enjoyed playing Pin the Bow on the Bear, tested their throwing skills with a bean bag toss, coloured their own bear ear headbands, and created some gorgeous collage bears using a variety of coloured card. Their creativity really shone through! A congratulations to Taika, Zander, Micah and Charlie for getting the bow right on the X of the bear!

We also gathered together to sing and dance along to our favourite teddy bear songs, filling the room with smiles, laughter, and lots of happy energy. During quieter moments, we enjoyed listening to teddy bear stories, snuggling up together and using our imaginations as we shared some lovely stories.

One of the highlights of the day was seeing the children patiently waiting for their turns during each activity, encouraging one another, and celebrating each other’s efforts. It was a wonderful opportunity to practise kindness, sharing, and taking turns while having lots of fun together.

Our Teddy Bear Picnic Day was filled with laughter, learning, creativity, music, and special memories. We are so proud of all our tamariki for joining in with such enthusiasm and making the day so enjoyable for everyone.
Thank you to all our wonderful families for helping make our Teddy Bear Picnic Day so special. We hope you enjoy seeing some of the fun we had! 🐻🧺💕
