National Award winning Liz van Welie Swim School is a leading provider in learn to swim provision at all ages. From babies at 8 weeks through to adults in their 90s, you're never too old to learn to swim. Unique to Liz van Welie Aquatics Swim School is the use of 'Magnapool' mineral treatment using only magnesium and potassium. This coupled with the nature filtration system from the USA provides the highest quality water for learning to swim. Our building is our pride and joy with underfloor heating throughout the building including all the changing rooms, 33 degrees water temp, a viewing area, free wifi, heaps of parking along with the other great retailers at Pyes Pa Shopping Centre

🏊‍♀️ COME AND JOIN OUR TEAM! 🏊‍♂️

Liz van Welie Aquatics (LVWA) is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Baby Swimming Teacher to join our team!

We are a busy swim school and coaching programme based in Tauranga, catering for swimmers from parents and babies through to school-aged children, competitive swimming, fitness and triathlon squads.

We are currently looking for one or two teachers to join our weekend team, specifically teaching baby classes on Sundays, with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts throughout the week (mostly evenings) for the right candidate.

💦 About the Role

As a swimming teacher, you will:

Teach babies and children using the LVWA curriculum and lesson plans, while adapting lessons to meet the needs of individual swimmers.
Ensure lessons start on time and use effective time management to maximise swimming and learning time.
Support swimmer progression by tracking development within lessons and through our online programme.
Communicate positively with parents about their child’s progress.
Build strong relationships with swimmers, families, fellow teachers and management.
Follow all LVWA health and safety policies and procedures.
Attend required staff training and development sessions.
🌟 About You

We are looking for someone who:

Is 18 years or older.
Is looking for long-term employment.
Has a positive, friendly and engaging personality and enjoys working with children and families.
Has experience working with babies and parents, or has strong swimming knowledge across freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly.
Has a good character and the ability to build positive relationships with children and parents.
Is reliable, enthusiastic and keen to learn and develop as a teacher.

Swimming qualifications and/or teaching experience are a bonus, but not essential — we are happy to train the right person.

This position reports to the Swim School Coordinator.

The time has come! After months of hard work, dedication, and training, it's your chance to shine.

To all of our swimmers competing in the pool—swim with confidence, trust your training, race hard, and most importantly, enjoy every moment. We're hoping to see plenty of personal bests and big smiles along the way!
