It's with heavy hearts that The Short Family and Faith Bible College announce that Des Short, our Dad, Poppa, Co-Founder and Principal Emeritus, passed away on Tuesday 15 September. Des was surrounded by family and close friends in his last days and passed peacefully. He is now with his Lord and Saviour and beloved Carley.
Des was a bold, dynamic leader and teacher who changed the Christian world through the conventions he held and his preaching around New Zealand and throughout world. Alongside his beloved wife, Carley, he founded Faith Bible College, where he loved being in the classroom and living the campus life, training arrows that were sent around the world. He made an impact on many people’s lives. His cheeky laugh, flamboyant shirts, sweet tooth, and stories will be dearly missed by his family.
If you would like to see Des, viewing is available on Friday 18 September and Monday 21 September between 2.00pm and 4.00pm at Elliot's Funeral Home, 25 Ninth Avenue, Tauranga.
A funeral service will be held at C3 Ōtūmoetai at 3.00pm on Tuesday 22 September, followed by a private family burial on Wednesday.
