There is a lot of excitement and anticipation at school today as we prepare for our Garden Glow Disco tonight. The sausage sizzle at the disco is proudly sponsored and hosted by Estelle Johnson - Ray White and Lou Vockins Ray White from Ray White Papamoa.
Our school community truly appreciates their generosity in supporting the school and helping fund the sandscape and sunshade. See you tonight!

A reminder to our families and whānau that Anthony and Kevin will be holding a Parent Information Hui tomorrow at 8.45am in the Pompallier Centre. This is to discuss the new curriculum and how we teach, measure, assess and report against student progress in learning.

Congratulations to our six year 3-4 learners from Mangatawa who proudly represented Suzanne Aubert at the Tauranga Regional Chess Competition at St Marys today. The boys showed great focus, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day, competing against students from schools across the region. Along the way they learned a few new rules, gained valuable experience, and most importantly had lots of fun challenging themselves at a higher level of competition. We are incredibly proud of how well they all played and represented our school. We look forward to seeing them build on their skills and return even stronger next year!
Well done, boys! 👏♟️

As many of you know, we recently welcomed a very special new member to our school family—our therapy dog, Chilli! 🐶✨
When one of our wonderful school parents and Coastal Pet Vet Papamoa owner, Justin Badenhorst, heard about Chilli joining us, he generously stepped forward and offered to sponsor her.
We are absolutely blown away by Justin's incredible generosity and support. Sponsoring a therapy dog will help us provide this wonderful resource for our students' well-being, comfort, and learning.
Please join us in giving a massive shout-out and a heartfelt thank you to Justin! We are so grateful to have such supportive families in our school community.
Welcome officially to the team, Chilli, and thank you again, Justin! ❤️🎒🐾

Good luck to the SACS Breakers, our year 5-6 basketball team, who are playing in the Basketball World Cup at Mercury Baypark arena today. Representing Italy, our basketballers will play off against other local primary schools. Thanks to Sa and Jan who have coached and managed this team for the past few years. The team are all excited and ready for a great day of basketball.

The sun was shining for our school cross country which was held at the Wairakei reserve on Wednesday. Our tamariki have all been training hard for the cross country as part of our PE curriculum and it was awesome to see them giving it there all and showing our 7 Cs. It was also wonderful to see our learners cheering their peers on and really getting into the spirit of the event.
Thank you to Mr Piermarini for organising such a great event, all of the parent volunteers and helpers who helped out with setting up, marshalling and cheering on the runners and the Aubert Whānau group for running the well needed sausage sizzle after the races. The sausage sizzle was once again a massive hit with the tamariki after their big run! Thank you to everyone for supporting this fundraiser! A big big thank you also to Estelle Johnson - Ray White Papamoa for donating the sausages and bread and supporting our school Community! Thank you also to our resident photographer Deearn for the great pics!

In Kopukairoa, we have been learning about kawakawa and its many health benefits as part of our inquiry learning. Our students have explored the history of the plant, researched its medicinal uses, and developed their understanding through hands-on learning.
Each child then wrote their own procedural writing explaining how to make kawakawa balm before bringing their learning to life in a practical way!
A huge thank you to Ella’s dad, Hayden, for helping supply extra kawakawa, and to Arlo’s dad, Alex for generously providing the beeswax.
Our process involved breaking up fresh kawakawa leaves and slowly cooking them in olive oil on a low heat for four hours. The mixture was then strained through muslin cloth into a pan, where beeswax was gently melted in to create the balm. Finally, we poured the balm into little tins and added flower petals from our school garden for a special finishing touch.
Each learner then got creative, designing and decorating their own balm tin, making every creation unique.
We look forward to sharing this learning journey 🍀and our finished creations 🍃with you at our Learning Celebration later this term!

This morning we held our Aubert Kid Morning Tea where our learners that have received an Aubert Kid award in the first half of this term joined the staff for morning tea in the staffroom. These learners have all been showing our 7Cs in their learning and friendship. We also had Chilli, our new therapy dog, come along and get treated to a few crumbs.
