What a beautiful way to honour and celebrate Papua New NZ Papua New Guinea Pidgin Language Week this week.

We were blessed to have Irianny, Alice and Molly as well as Pam (our awesome reliever) and her family Alana and Kai to help us raise the flag for Papua New Guinea and share their beautiful culture with us.

We have been learning about the Bird of Paradise on the flag of Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬🇵🇬🇵🇬.

In Papua New Guinea this is know as the 'Kumul'.

Thank you Pam for donating the beautiful Bird of Paradise plant which we planted to honour our Papua New Guinea connections here at Tai O Fenua Kindergarten.

This week we're celebrating the language, culture and communities of the Kingdom of Tonga.

This year, the theme is all about celebrating music as a vital strand of Tongan culture: Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga 🌺
