Atawhai Te Kōhanga Reo has been established in the Ngāti Tūwharetoa district for almost 40 years. We thrive under the kaupapa of the Kōhanga Reo movement learning and living te reo me ōna tikanga. Our current space capacity is 35 tamariki ranging from 8 months to 6 years. This page is to enlighten and inform the whānau and the community of our Kōhanga Reo. We welcome people of all ethnicities who are interested in their children learning Māori tikanga and te reo. By being immersed in this world our tamariki will grow to be strong, independent learners of the future.

We, Atawhai Te Kōhanga Reo, are seeking somebody to cover Maternity Leave up to September 11th 2026 and 2 Relievers.
We are looking for someone who is:
- matatau/passionate and eager to learn te reo Māori
- passionate about working with tamariki
- Has an understanding of Te Whāriki and Te Korowai
- Able to work collectively alongside whānau, tamariki and kaimahi
- You MUST pass a Police Vet in order to be successful in any role
