We are glad to announce our first-year Free Fees initiative which will enable eligible secondary school leavers from anywhere in New Zealand to undertake their first year of study at our Mokoia campus without paying tuition fees throughout 2027!

📚 CAA EXAM REMINDER – THIS WEEK

A quick reminder that CAA exams are taking place in the Hall from Tuesday 8 September to Friday 11 September.

These exams cover Reading, Writing and Numeracy and are predominantly for Year 9 and 10 students, who sit them when they are ready.

⚠️ Students must be signed up to sit these exams.
If you’re unsure whether you’re signed up, please check with your Whānau Teacher.

Exam timetable:

✍️ Tuesday 8 September – Writing
Ako 1 | 9:10am
All students who have signed up

📖 Wednesday 9 September – Reading
Ako 1 | 9:10am
All students who have signed up

➗ Thursday 10 September – Numeracy
Ako 1 | 9:10am – Year 9s and senior students who have signed up
Ako 2 | 11:15am – Year 10s who have signed up

🤒 Catch-up sessions
If you are genuinely unwell and unable to attend your scheduled exam, catch-up sessions will be held in the Hall:

We are pleased to share information regarding the 2026 Tauhara College Sports Awards and invite nominations for this year’s Supreme Awards.

The Supreme Awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding sporting achievements, dedication and contributions of our Tauhara College students and teams. Achievements may be at school, regional, national or international level.

We encourage our whānau and wider school community to nominate any student or team they believe is deserving of recognition.

When completing the nomination form, please provide as much detail as possible to support your nomination, including relevant achievements, competition results, representative honours and contributions to their sport.

To recognize Daffodil Day on the 28th of August, the Student Council organised activities to fundraise and raise awareness for Cancer Society. The day began with a whānau quiz about the history and meaning of Daffodil Day, which was won by 10Ep and 11He. At interval, there was a cupcake sale, scavenger hunt, and lolly jar guessing. As the cupcakes sold out and all but one of the hidden ribbons were found, guesses were placed in the high-stakes lolly jar competition. It didn’t take long to count its contents, and it turned out there was a 14-way tie, so the winner was chosen through a random draw. Congratulations to Maya Williams for correctly guessing (counting) the lolly number and being drawn as the victor.
Thank you to everybody who donated - Tauhara was able to fundraise $419.28, which will help people in the community through the Cancer Society’s support services, health promotion programmes and life-saving cancer research.

WINTER TOURNAMENT WEEK - EQUESTRIAN & UNDERWATER HOCKEY

Best of luck to our Equestrian and Underwater Hockey teams who are also out representing Tauhara College this week for Winter Tournament Week.

Our Underwater Hockey team is heading to Rotorua, with their first games getting underway on Thursday.
