𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 & 𝗣𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗔𝗿𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆!

The countdown to Floral Day on Friday, October 16, 2026 is underway, and it’s time to get growing!

Seeds are now ready for students to collect from the school office between Friday, August 14 and Friday, 21 August during the morning pick-up window of 8.30a.m.–9.00a.m.

Junior students (Years 0–3): Beans
Senior students (Years 4–6): Peas

Each student can collect one packet of seeds, completely free to a good home.

A big thank you to Mitre 10 Mega Taupo for generously sponsoring the seeds and helping our students get their Floral Day growing underway. We really appreciate your support!

Due to the rain and weather forecast unpredictability, today's school cross country is postponed. This is to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and community during the event.

Cross country will instead be on Monday, August 17, 2026. This date differs from the date previously shared in order to account for the current weather forecasted.

Students can wear their Whare-Tiaki colours.

Wairakei Primary School is conducting a lockdown exercise today. This is how you will be notified in the first instance, should a lockdown occur at the school. Please do not come to the school or phone the school as you will not be attended to. Your assistance and cooperation are appreciated.

Term 2 wraps up today and we wish all students, staff, and whānau a happy two week break. We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday, July 20, 2026 with a powhiri at 9.15a.m. in the school hall.
