Whether you have children or not, you were once a child. And your first teachers were your parents. And the truth is, they did the best they could with what they had to work with. Know what is also the truth? Their best wasn't enough.

And that's the part we don't like to talk about.

As women, we're taught to always make excuses for the people we love. We are taught to ignore how we feel because we don't want to hurt people's feelings by calling them out on how they make/made us feel. We were taught to suppress or avoid the very real feelings of anger, resentment, sadness and grief that live within us because of a lost childhood. A childhood where we were forced to grow up wayyyy faster than we wanted because nobody was living/speaking their truth.

Our parents, our first teachers, couldn't teach us about self love, honest and open communication, self-forgiveness, boundaries etc., because they weren't practicing them.

Whether you're a mother now or not yet, check yourself every moment of every day. Speak your truth which includes saying when you're pi**ed off. Pursue your soul's dreams. Forgive yourself. Love yourself all the time instead of only when times are tough/easy. Connect with the parts of you that you don't like. Say no when you want to say no. Have the uncomfortable conversations.

Do all of that OPENLY. Your children are learning from your ACTIONS, not your words. Your children need your truth more than they need your trying to keep the peace. Your children need you to own up to the inner work you're actively avoiding.

Living your truth every moment of every day is ALWAYS good enough. It's everything.

I'm currently in 's Group Coaching program and have gained so much clarity, guidance and wisdom that I thought, "I really wish all women had access to this level of transformation," so I asked Susan, "Can we co-create a freebie using some of the amazing things from your program?!" And Susan graciously said yes. Despite using the word, "co-creation", it really is all Susan's wisdom.

Changing your life doesn't mean you have to quit your job and move countries. Changing your life can happen in the little daily things you've overlooked because they're just "too obvious/simple."

The transformation doesn't happen in the big moments. It happens in the little ones. The way you start and end your day may not seem monumental but two things you can count on is the sun rising and setting. What happens in between those moments varies greatly. I used to think a solid morning routine was enough. As Susan says: transformation happens when you "bookend" your days. Starting your day grounded and connected will help you feel joy, love and peace throughout the day. And ending your day on the same note will help you decompress, reset, rest and reconnect with yourself. Who doesn't want more peace, joy and love in their life?!

Because I've benefitted so much from The Forever Love Methodβ„’, I asked Susan for permission to share the parts of her program that resonated with me the most: the little practical things you can add to your routines to help you be a match for your dreams. If you haven't downloaded the freebie and I co-created, you must. It's a game changer. The link is in my bio. And if you don't follow Susan, go follow her right now! And join her program. Really. Do it.

If you're interested in hanging out with Susan and I as we discuss the booklet in more detail (plus share more of what we wished we could have put in) then join us for our Masterclass on Sunday December 10th at 4PM EST. The event will be in my Facebook group https://www.facebook.com/groups/973090354036109/ so make sure to join if you want to welcome in the new year with some life-changing routines.

Where are my Tolkien fans?! πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ Fun fact: the entire Hobbit trilogy was filmed in New Zealand. The entire Lord of the Rings trilogy was filmed here, too, except for one scene. And a few days ago, I visited Hobbiton! The set where they filmed the Shire scenes for The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings trilogies. It was a dream come true.

And speaking of dreams come true...

Have you signed up to receive a free copy of my "Daily Routines for Dreams Come True" booklet?

What I love about this new freebie is the simplicity of these four steps. And together, with remaining unplugged, the four pack a powerful punch. The Self Love Meditation alone (which takes about 2 minutes to say) has changed the lives of my clients and countless other women (myself included!). We often underestimate the cumulative power of all the little things we do.

Not anymore! What better time to implement these four simple steps than now?! The new year is just around the corner. Starting now, you can welcome 2024 with a solid morning and evening routine to make your manifestation dreams come true.

When creating this booklet, it was challenging to fit everything I wanted without overwhelming you. But I still want to give you all the extra nuggets that didn't make it into this booklet. So...πŸ₯πŸ₯
..I'm hosting a Masterclass in a week!! πŸ₯³πŸ’« This Masterclass will include more information to solidify your routines, a LIVE demonstration of the Yin Yoga poses, exercises and challenges for releasing energy that you don't want to bring into the new year AND since it's LIVE, I will be available for questions.

It's going to be an amazing wrap to 2023! πŸ‘‘βœ¨

The Masterclass will be LIVE in my Facebook Group, so enter the link πŸ‘‰πŸΌ https://www.facebook.com/groups/973090354036109/ to join and be a part of the magic! The Masterclass will be on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at 4PM Eastern Standard Time.

Let's welcome our dreams into 2024. Are you in? πŸ’ͺ🏼

A fun fact about me:
I unplug from devices from 9PM-9AM.

You may be thinking, "OMG. What do you do with yourself the hours you're not sleeping?!"

I have solid routines I LOVE. I have a morning routine that allows me to ease into my day calmly and an evening routine that eases me into a restful and peaceful sleep. Many of you underestimate the power of how you start and end your days. It's so simple that you're probably thinking profound changes can't happen there.

Think about this: If you’re 35 years old, you are also 12,775 days old. You’ve seen 12,775 sunrises and sunsets 🌞. How you’ve lived each day has built the life you're living. The years don’t matter; the days that make up the years do. And guess which parts of the day have the MOST impact on the trajectory of your life? Mornings and evenings. Aka how you start and end each day.

Do you feel exhausted when the alarm goes off in the morning? Do you hit snooze three times and then rush to get out the door to get to work on time? At night, do you feel drained but can’t sleep? Do you scroll through social media while lying in bed, trying to sleep?

Your days start exhausted and rushed and end drained and restless. How you feel in the mornings and evenings is how you feel throughout the day; therefore, each day is lived exhausted, restless & rushed. No wonder you’re having difficulty attracting abundance, peace, joy and calm! You’re not a magnet for those things yet. But don’t worry, I’ve got your back! I've co-created an AMAZING (and FREE) Daily Routines booklet with the simple, practical and impactful daily practices that will help change your life for the better.

Your life is made up of all the little moments therfore, if you want to change your life, you must change the little moments. ✨

This post was inspired by a quote by Thich Nhat Hanh. The moment I read it, I reflected on my own formal education. Two degrees and a $40,000 student loan debt later, and I couldn't tell you a single thing I learned. But I can tell you how anxious I was for exams, how much I obsessed over my grades, how I had to work full-time and do summer school to make up for lost time, how ashamed I was when I failed a class, how stressed I was making sure I had all the requirements to graduate, how depressed I was in my 2nd year of undergrad.

All of that, I remember clearly. Until recently, I'd have nightmares that I didn't graduate because I messed up my graduate requirements and therefore couldn't keep my job. I'd wake up stressed, but thankful it was only a dream. That's messed up, right? Messed up that I felt like all my hard work was threatened. That it could be taken away from me.

And yet, this is what we're raising our kids to expect: that their performance will determine the course of their lives. This pressure is what drives our children to struggle with anxiety and depression. And they're not learning how to handle all that fear because we're not teaching them by modelling it ourselves.

Instead, we model what it means to seek external validation for how well we can perform. With every new course, diploma or degree we complete we're showing ourselves (and young kids) that a peace of paper determines our worth.

If you want to make a big difference in your [children's] lives, invest the time and money in your soul, not your mind. You don't need more knowledge, trust me. You're so incredibly wise. You've just been disconnected from your fountain of wisdom that you can't see it yet. But I promise you, it's there. You just have to unearth it. And once you do, you'll find a peace, joy, freedom and abundance you'll NEVER find in a textbook or job promotion.

DM me and let's talk 🌷

When I was a teacher, the most bittersweet day of the school year was the last day of school. After spending 10 months learning, growing, playing, teaching, laughing, and crying together, I had to say goodbye. And every September, when I welcomed my new students, I'd remember the previous group and think, "I don't know if I can love you as much as I loved the last group." But guess what? I ALWAYS loved them. And it was hard forming that bond because--for the bulk of my teaching career-- I taught students who were graduating or feeding into other schools, which meant I wouldn't see them again.

Our time together was but a small chapter in their lives. They go and have other amazing chapters, and I knew in my heart that they would have other fantastic teachers. But it's still a little sad when our chapter together ends.

It's very apt I share this story at the end of my chapter with this beautiful and wise woman. She is also a teacher, so she gets it 😜

The first voice note I shared with Megan explained the difference between Self Love and Self-Care, and her response was, "Well, now I'm crying!" I'll never forget the first woman I made cry with my voice note πŸ˜… But she was crying because she learned for the first time EVER the difference between the two. She realized that she was good at Self-care but lacking in Self Love.

And through our work together, she has healed SO much through Self Love. As a recovering burnt-out people-pleaser (like A LOT of teachers are), she has learned to have better boundaries to continue to discover the Megan outside of the "teacher label." She has come SUCH a long way! I am in AWE of her wisdom, confidence, joy & commitment to herself. Way to go, Megan! πŸ‘πŸ’ͺ😍

Teaching, for many, is a HUGE part of their identity. And it makes teachers sick. They have difficulties saying no to the dozens of responsibilities in and outside their contracts because they feel they must always say yes to be a good teacher. Teacher or not, you CAN say no and not get sent to the Principal's office. You will not get in "trouble" for saying no to others & yes to yourself.

Need help choosing yourself? DM me to learn how I can help you 🍎🍏

Aligned action is all about Being. Being aligned with the lifestyle of your goals. It's about living in a different way.

We're so used to DOING all the time. And we're doing so much but for a life that we didn't choose. We're running here, there and everywhere trying to complete our to-do list of 135 items. We're waking up exhausted and apathetic, downing lots of caffeine just to be able to function. We run out the door to go to a job we don't love and meet up with people who drain our energy. We're living a low-vibration life.

And every day we're praying for things to change. Then we go to bed and repeat it all the next day. We're wishing & waiting for things to change without changing anything ourselves.

The Universe cannot fulfill your dreams if you're actively living a life that isn't conducive to those dreams. It doesn't matter how long you pray & wait. But if you shift from DOING the wrong life for your dreams into BEING the aligned life for your dreams, then miracles happen. They won't happen overnight but they will happen. And this is where patience comes in.

Ask yourself:
πŸ‘‰ How can I bring more joy into my daily life?
πŸ‘‰ How can I include more nourishing & wholesome foods into my daily life?
πŸ‘‰ Where in my day can I create moments to just Be? To allow myself to feel?

The answers to these kinds of questions are what will allow you to be in alignment with the life of your dreams. There's nothing you need to DO. Achieving your dreams (no matter what they are!) is about living in alignment. It's a way of BEING. How do you want to BE?

I explore these questions and more in my coaching program. Your dreams won't just come to you because you prayed and waited. They'll come to you when you're living an aligned life that's conducive to them. Two weeks ago, when I Googled how to harvest and cook an artichoke, I realized that humans have something in common with artichokes: The best part of us--our heart--is very closed off. An artichoke grows with LAYERS of tough leaves packed tightly around its heart. Humans have growns to close their beautiful hearts by wrapping them up so tightly in pain, sadness, fear, grief, guilt etc,. that they've become impenetrable.

Impenetrable is good when it comes to a raincoat but not when it comes to your heart. A closed and buried heart is a blocked one. A blocked heart cannot let energy flow freely. It cannot release nor welcome in energy. A closed heart is one that experiences a lot of fear-based emotions--like the ones mentioned above--and traps them in our hearts. And because those feelings cannot get released, they tend to run our lives.

A closed heart is our default, sadly. We've accumulated so much unprocessed pain that we've become like an artichoke: Every painful experience adding another layer of tough leaves around our hearts. And when we want to change ourselves/our communities/the world, the desire to change is sparked by sadness, anger, grief, anxiety, fear etc. It's from a closed heart that we want change.

Change can only come from an open heart. Because only an open heart can heal you/your family/your community/the world. Love can only flow from an open heart. And the world needs a lot of love right now. It may not feel like "enough" but trust me, your heart isn't a weak little thing. It's powerful beyond measure, just like you.

Be radical and choose to live with an open heart ❀️ If you want a free heart-opening meditation, DM "open heart" and I'll send it right over!

Today's client session inspired this post. My client leveled up in her healing today when she realized that she hadn't really forgiven herself because of how much anger and judgement she still felt towards her mother.

How she felt about her mother was a reflection of how she felt about herself.

You cannot forgive someone until you've forgiven yourself. And often we don't feel like we need to forgive ourselves because we don't feel like we've done anything wrong. In fact, if we are victims why would we have to forgive ourselves?

Because we judge our past selves so harshly for not doing things differently. We could've stayed longer or left sooner, we could've said or done something, we could've stood up for ourselves or someone else, we could've been more kind/brave/understanding/patient/accepting/loving etc.

It doesn't matter how old you were when you experienced whatever you experienced. You will judge your younger self just as severely as your adult self. And that judgement will be the blueprint for how you judge others. Your self-love is the blueprint of the love you attract and feel towards others. Your self-acceptance is the blueprint for how you accept others. Your self-forgiveness is the blueprint for how you forgive others.

We've grown up thinking that acceptance, love, forgiveness, trust etc. are gifts we bestow upon those who are deserving and have others bestow upon us IF they find US deserving. We're all walking around hoping that someone will deem us worthy of life's gifts.

If you're waiting for a loved one to say, "I love you exactly as you are," then you've placed the greatest and most powerful honour in the hands of someone else: your self-love and self-worth. If you are waiting for a loved one to say, "I'm sorry," you placed the beauty of forgiveness into the hands of someone else. And if you're waiting for someone to "earn" your love/forgiveness/acceptance then guess what? You believe that YOU have to earn your own love/forgiveness/acceptance.

If you're currently struggling with forgiving/accepting/loving/not judging someone. Turn your attention inwards and ask yourself, "Do I _______ myself?" And if not, how can you heal that?
