💛✨ A special farewell for Halo ✨💛

A celebration of Halo’s farewell here at The Meadows, a day filled with high fives, cuddles, smiles, and a whole lot of aroha.

Halo was honoured with the privilege of wearing the korowai, a meaningful moment that recognises her journey, growth, and the special place she holds within our centre whānau. It was a beautiful way to acknowledge her time with us and the memories she leaves behind.

Surrounded by friends and kaiako, Halo’s send-off was full of warmth, connection, and celebration of everything she has achieved during her time at The Meadows.

We will miss you, Halo, and we wish you all the very best for your next adventure. Once part of The Meadows whānau, always part of The Meadows whānau. 💛

🌈💦 Colour, water, and endless imagination!

Tamariki were fully immersed in play at the mud kitchen, experimenting with coloured water as they poured, mixed, stirred, and created their own little “recipes.”

There was curiosity in every movement—watching colours blend, testing what happens when water flows, and working together to bring their ideas to life. The mud kitchen was alive with conversation, laughter, and creativity.

Open-ended experiences encourage exploration, problem-solving, and sensory discovery in the most joyful way. 💛

🚀🌌 Exploring the universe right here in our preschool room!

One of our kaiako has been busy transforming a learning space all about space—bringing in stars, planets, rockets, and all things cosmic for our tamariki to explore.

Tamariki were invited to step into a world of imagination and discovery, learning through hands-on activities, storytelling, and play that sparks curiosity about the universe beyond our world.

Spaces like this encourage wonder, questioning, creativity, and deep engagement as tamariki explore new ideas in fun and meaningful ways.

We love creating environments that inspire big thinking and even bigger imaginations. 💫

🤝✨ Teamwork in action!

A beautiful moment of two tamariki working together, sharing ideas, supporting each other, and figuring things out as a team. There were conversations, cooperation, and plenty of smiles as they collaborated to bring their play to life.

It’s in moments like these that children learn so much more than just the task at hand—building communication skills, patience, empathy, and the joy of achieving something together.

👣💛 A day in the nursery, through Halo’s eyes…

Today Halo took us on a special little journey through her nursery room, sharing her day in her own words as she moved through each part of her play.

She showed us where she loves to explore, the toys she chooses first, the friends she plays alongside, and the quiet moments where she settles into books and gentle play. Every stop came with her own commentary—full of personality, curiosity, and pride in her space.

It was beautiful to see the nursery through her perspective: a world of comfort, familiarity, discovery, and belonging.

At The Meadows, we treasure these moments where tamariki lead the way and share their experiences with confidence. 💛

🍓🧁 Fresh, nourishing, and made with aroha.

Today our amazing cook has been busy in the kitchen preparing a beautiful afternoon tea for our tamariki. From fresh ingredients to carefully prepared kai, every plate is made with care to support happy tummies and growing bodies.

There’s something special about the smell of food made onsite—it brings comfort, warmth, and a real sense of home to our centre.

We are so grateful for the care and dedication that goes into every meal, helping ensure our children are well nourished, supported, and ready for more learning and play throughout the day.

💛 Good kai. Good energy. Happy tamariki.

🐐🥚🐓 A fun-filled adventure at the petting zoo!

Gemma took a small group of our tamariki out for a special hands-on experience with our animals. There were plenty of smiles as the children helped feed the animals, gently interact with them, and enjoy the excitement of being up close with nature.

The adventure didn’t stop there—our curious explorers even found themselves chasing a cheeky chicken before carefully gathering fresh eggs from the coop!

The eggs were proudly collected and taken back to Haromi in the kitchen, ready to be used for cooking. In true real-life learning moments, one egg did take an unexpected tumble and didn’t quite make it—but that became part of the story and learning too!

At The Meadows, we love these authentic experiences that teach responsibility, connection to nature, and where our food comes from. 💛

🎶🤲 These small hands, they don’t care where I come from…

Today at The Meadows Early Learning Centre was filled with connection, joy, and the beautiful sound of children at play. Our tamariki spent the day exploring, laughing, learning, and simply enjoying being together.

With music playing softly in the background, the centre was alive with movement and energy—little hands building, creating, sharing, and caring for one another in their own special ways.

Moments like these remind us that childhood is about belonging, friendship, and feeling safe to be exactly who you are.
