What a fantastic meeting yesterday full of insights, growth, and plenty of laughs.

Helen kicked things off by getting us all thinking about frugality—whether you’re rich or poor—through a series of hilarious and relatable stories about her and her friends. A great reminder that mindset often matters more than money 💡

Given the recent cyclone that hit New Zealand over the weekend, our Table Topics took on a natural disaster theme. It sparked some creative, thoughtful, and at times unexpected responses from our amazing speakers —definitely a session to remember!

We also had Erica delivered her Ice Breaker speech titled “Professor During the Day, Learner at Night.” She shared her journey and what inspired her to join Toastmasters, giving us a genuine glimpse into her drive for growth and self-improvement 👏

To wrap up, Anna had the whole room laughing with her humorous speech “When Talk Doesn’t Work.” Drawing from her experience trying to calm a tantrum-throwing two-year-old, she cleverly connected it to how we communicate with her partner and friends —sometimes is more about feelings instead of talking! 😂

Congratulations to our winners for the evening: Kimberly, Caroline, and Erica 🏆👏 Well done!

Our next meeting is on 28 Apr, 7–9pm at Takapuna Croquet Club. Looking forward to seeing you then!

What a memorable and laughter-filled meeting at North Shore Toastmasters! 🎤✨

We were treated to a heartfelt farewell speech from Marie, who beautifully opened with a poem reflecting on her journey and growth over the past 18 months. It was a touching tribute to her experience, and a reminder of how far dedication and courage can take you. 💫

Sara then took us on a fun and unexpected ride, sharing her experience from personal training sessions she won at a charity auction—reminding everyone to be careful with what you bid for! 💪😄

The Table Topics session brought a fresh twist, with members teaming up to perform roleplays based on different scenarios. The creativity, chemistry, and humour had the whole room laughing non-stop—definitely one of the highlights of the night! 😂👏

We also hosted a lively debate on whether marriage has become an obsolete institution. Both sides delivered strong arguments, making it a thought-provoking and engaging discussion for everyone involved. 💬🔥

Stay tuned—some of the best moments from the meeting will be shared as reels over the next couple of days! 🎥

And if you’d like to experience the energy in person, join us at our next meeting:
