☕💛 A Huge Thank You! 💛☕

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Ethan and Shontelle from Empire Coffee Roasters, who are also one of our valued Takapau whānau, for their incredibly generous ongoing contributions to our Breakfast Club.

Our Breakfast Club runs every Monday and Tuesday, providing our tamariki with a warm and welcoming start to the day. Ethan and Shontelle's generosity will help us continue to offer this to our students, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

Ngā mihi nui, Shontelle and Ethan. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to our tamariki and our kura. 💛

🏃‍♀️🌧️ CHB Cross Country 🌧️🏃‍♂️

A huge congratulations to Olivia T, who achieved an amazing 3rd place at the CHB Cross Country! 🥉👏 What a fantastic effort!

We also want to congratulate all of our Takapau tamariki who took part. It was certainly a bit of a damp day, but everyone showed fantastic determination, resilience and school spirit as they gave it their best.

We are incredibly proud of you all - ka mau te wehi! 🌟👏💛

✏️🌟 Amazing Writing Happening Across Our Kura! 🌟✏️

We are really starting to see our tamariki shift up another gear with their writing! Across the school, students are working hard to use exciting language, make deliberate word choices and create writing that really engages their audience.

It is fantastic to see the pride and excitement our tamariki have in their writing and the progress they are making. There is some awesome mahi happening across our kura!

Ka mau te wehi, tamariki mā! We are so proud of you! 👏🌟

🧶✨ Weaving in Room 3! ✨🧶

Yesterday in Room 3, our tamariki had the opportunity to learn how to weave! They took an old photograph of a building in Takapau and creatively wove it together with a photo of what that same building looks like today. What a wonderful way to connect art, history and our local community! 🏡📸

We were so impressed with the concentration, patience and perseverance shown as everyone worked carefully to complete their pieces.

The finished artwork is fantastic - ka pai, Room 3! 🎨👏

My Pūrerehua

Kia ora everyone, it’s me Nila!
I want to tell you all about my Pūrerhua.
A pūrerhua is a traditional Māori instrument.
It makes a whirring and buzzing sound.
The buzzing sound could help attract lizards looking for food.
The word pūrerhua means butterfly or moth.
Back in the day it was used as a weapon.
It was also used in karakia to ask Ranginui, the Sky Father, to send rain for the gardens.
Today, the purerehua is still a special taonga pūoro.
It helps us share stories and keep Māori traditions alive.
