1920's Stodart, 150 cents flat.... well ....not any more. After a few nail biting moments, we reached our destination, A440Hz, with no broken strings. A broken hammer shank and bridal tape repair and I guess i will see it again in 6 months. Many many Musical Miles and Smiles made on this piano! Nice to see and hear a piano being played and enjoyed!!

Rich Lipp Era 1880-1890s, Half A Dozen Hammers Broken Off Shanks. Very Brittle Hammers Shanks, Drilled Out Hammer Butts And Hammer Tails With Jig And Hand Drill, (see photo of jig and drill) All Other Methods Of Extraction Failed. Knurled, Vented And Glued In New Shanks With Hammers. Pitch Raised And Tuned A440Hz. (great having a work bench so close!)
