🌸 Understanding the Estrogenic Body Type During Perimenopause & Menopause 🌸

Have you noticed your body changing during perimenopause or menopause — especially around your hips, thighs, lower abdomen, or overall shape — even though your habits haven’t changed?

Many women experience changes in body composition, energy, cravings, sleep, mood, and metabolism as hormones shift during this important stage of life.

The “Estrogenic body type” is often associated with a tendency to store weight around the lower body, including the hips and thighs. During perimenopause and menopause, changing estrogen levels can influence how your body responds and where it holds onto stubborn weight.

✨ Supporting your body through this transition may include:
🌿 Prioritising protein and nutrient-dense foods
💪 Strength training to maintain muscle and support metabolism
😴 Improving sleep and managing stress
🚶‍♀️ Choosing movement that works with your body
💧 Supporting hormonal health through consistent lifestyle choices

At **Health For Life**, we understand with perimenopause and menopause the focus is not just about how to "lose weight” — it’s about understanding your changing body and giving it the right support to do so.

Our **12-week Nutrition Education Course** is designed to help women learn how to nourish their bodies through perimenopause and menopause, support healthy habits, reduce stubborn weight gain, and address common estrogen-related symptoms such as cravings, low energy, and changes in body shape.

✨ You don’t have to fight your body — you can learn how to work with it.

If you’re ready to understand your hormones, your nutrition, and your body’s needs during this stage of life, we’d love to support you. ❤️

Send us a message to learn more about our 12-week programme.

**Are you noticing stubborn weight gain around your middle, feeling exhausted even after a full night's sleep, struggling with brain fog, mood swings, anxiety, or feeling like your body just isn't responding the way it used to?**

If you're in your 40s or 50s, it's easy to assume it's "just perimenopause." While hormonal changes certainly play a role, your adrenal glands may also be working harder than you realise.

As your ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen during perimenopause and menopause, your adrenal glands become an important backup source of certain hormones. If your body has been under ongoing stress and your adrenal health isn't well supported, it may be harder for your body to adapt to these hormonal changes. This can contribute to symptoms such as fatigue, increased belly fat, poor stress tolerance, disrupted sleep, brain fog, mood changes and low energy.

Many women don't realise that chronic stress, poor sleep, blood sugar imbalances and nutritional deficiencies can all place extra demands on the adrenal glands. When this happens, weight management and hormone balance can feel like an uphill battle.

Supporting your adrenal health with balanced nutrition, quality sleep, stress management, movement and targeted nutritional support can help improve resilience and support your wellbeing during this stage of life.

✨ You don't have to accept feeling tired, stressed and gaining weight as a normal part of getting older.

💚 At **Health For Life**, I help women uncover the underlying factors contributing to their symptoms and create personalised strategies to support their hormones, energy and overall wellbeing.

If you're ready to understand what's happening in your body and take back control of your health, send me a message or book a consultation. I'd love to help.

🌿 **Could Your Liver Be the Missing Piece During Perimenopause?**

If you're navigating perimenopause and wondering why the weight won't budge, your energy is low, or you're feeling "off," your liver may deserve more attention.

Your liver is one of the hardest-working organs in your body. It plays a vital role in:
✨ Processing and eliminating excess hormones, including estrogen.
✨ Supporting metabolism and healthy weight management.
✨ Regulating blood sugar.
✨ Producing bile for healthy digestion.
✨ Filtering toxins and supporting your body's natural detoxification processes.

As hormone levels fluctuate during perimenopause, your liver works even harder to keep everything in balance. When it's supported with good nutrition and healthy lifestyle habits, it can help your body function more efficiently.

Many women focus on eating less or exercising more to lose weight during this stage of life, but if your liver isn't functioning at its best, it can make the journey feel much harder than it needs to be.

That's why I'm so passionate about nutrition education. Through my **12-week Health for Life Nutrition Education Course**, I help people understand how to nourish their bodies, support liver health, reduce inflammation, and create sustainable habits that can lead to improved energy, better wellbeing, and healthy weight loss. It's not about restrictive diets or quick fixes—it's about giving your body the nutrients it needs to thrive.

💚 Healing begins with understanding your body and making small, consistent changes that last a lifetime.

If this resonates with you, I'd love to know:
**What has been your biggest challenge during perimenopause—weight gain, low energy, poor sleep, or something else?** Share your experience in the comments so we can learn from and support one another.

✨ Healthy Living Isn’t a Race — It’s a Lifestyle ✨

In a world that pushes quick fixes and fast results, it’s easy to forget that true health is built slowly… and sustainably 💚

Your body isn’t just about calories in vs calories out — it’s deeply connected to your hormones and glandular system. Your thyroid, adrenals, ovaries, and liver all play a powerful role in how your body stores fat, uses energy, and responds to stress.

When we nourish our bodies properly, manage stress, support sleep, and move in ways that feel good — everything starts to work *with* us instead of against us.

💫 Eating for hormonal health means:
• Balancing blood sugar
• Prioritising whole, nutrient-dense foods
• Supporting your body through different phases of life
• Listening to what your body actually needs

And here’s the truth most people don’t want to hear…
⚖️ Slow and steady wins the race.

Quick weight loss often leads to burnout, hormone imbalance, and weight regain. But when you take a consistent, supportive approach, you build a body that feels energised, balanced, and strong — for the long term.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about progress, patience, and learning to work *with* your body 🤍

If you’re ready to step away from extremes and start creating real, lasting results — this is your sign.

🐣✨ Easter, chocolate… and starting again ✨🐣

Let’s be real — Easter can feel like a setback.Chocolate, family meals, routines out the window… and then the guilt creeps in.

But here’s your reminder 👇
💛 One weekend does NOT undo your progress
💛 You don’t need to “start over”
💛 You just need to reset — the right way

Most women I work with fall into the same trap:➡️ Restrict after overindulging
➡️ Push harder with workouts➡️ Feel exhausted, bloated, and stuck
🚫 That’s NOT the answer.

Instead, think of this as your opportunity to work with your body, not against it:
✨ Get back to balanced meals (no extremes)
✨ Support your hormones (this is key!)
✨ Focus on energy, not punishment
✨ Understand your body type and what it actually needs

Because here’s the truth…If your glands and hormones aren’t supported —no amount of “being good” will give you the results you want.

🌿 This is exactly what I help women with inside my coaching program —understanding their body, balancing hormones, and finally seeing changes that last.

You don’t need to push harder to get results…
Especially if your body is already stressed.

So many women are stuck in a cycle of:
➡️ Exhaustion
➡️ Poor sleep
➡️ Intense workouts
➡️ No results

But here’s the truth 👇

If your adrenals are struggling and your sleep is off,
your body is NOT in a place to thrive.

Sleep is where the magic happens:
✨ Hormone regulation
✨ Recovery
✨ Fat loss

So instead of going harder…
👉 Pull back
👉 Support your body
👉 Choose smarter movement

Because results don’t come from punishment —
they come from alignment 🤍

✨ Why your body isn’t changing (and what to do about it) ✨

If you’ve been eating well, exercising, and STILL not seeing results… this might be why 👇

Your body isn’t working against you — you’re just not working with your hormones.

Different bodies respond differently, and I see this all the time with my clients:
🌸 O***y Body TypeStruggling with stubborn weight in the hips, thighs & lower belly + constant sugar cravings?

🔥 Thyroid Body TypeLow energy, slow metabolism, and weight that just won’t budge no matter how “good” you are?

⚡ Adrenal Body TypeHolding weight around your middle, feeling stressed, overwhelmed, and exhausted?

🌿 Liver Body TypeUpper belly weight, bloating, and feeling like your body just isn’t processing food properly?

🚫 The problem:Most plans treat everyone the same.✔️ Eat less✔️ Move more
But that doesn’t work when your hormones need specific support.

✅ The solution:A personalised approach that supports YOUR body type, balances your hormones, and finally gets things moving.

This is exactly what I do inside my coaching program 👇
✨ We identify your body type
✨ Support your hormones with the right nutrition & lifestyle
✨ Create a plan that actually works for YOU
✨ Help you feel confident, energised, and back in control of your body

🌸🐣 Enjoy Easter… without the sugar overload 🐣🌸

Easter is meant to be enjoyed 💛
Chocolate, family time, traditions… ALL of it.

But here’s the reality 👇
Most Easter eggs are 55–65% sugar (and some even higher 😳), meaning a single egg can contain 13–30 teaspoons of sugar depending on the size

👉 That’s way over your daily recommended intake in one sitting.

✨ So instead of “all or nothing”… try balanced indulgence this Easter:

✔️ Enjoy your favourite treats
✔️ Slow down and savour them
✔️ Be mindful of how much you’re actually eating

🍫 Smarter Easter Egg Choices

If you still want chocolate (YES please 🙌), here are better options:

🥚 Dark chocolate (70%+ cocoa)
– Naturally lower in sugar
– Example: Lindt 70% dark eggs ≈ 7.5 teaspoons of sugar per egg

🥚 Sugar-free or no added sugar eggs
– Sweetened with alternatives like stevia
– Great for reducing sugar spikes

🥚 Smaller portion eggs or mini eggs
– Easier to enjoy without overdoing it

🥚 Avoid speckled/sugar-coated eggs
– These are often the highest sugar options

💡 My tip:

You don’t need to “cut out” Easter treats…
👉 You just need to be intentional with them

Because how you feel AFTER matters more than the momentary sugar hit 💥

🌿 This Easter, try:

✨ 80/20 balance
✨ Mindful indulgence
✨ Choosing quality over quantity

You can enjoy Easter AND feel amazing doing it 💛

✨ Understanding Your Body Type ✨

Have you ever felt like no matter what you try, your body just won’t respond the way you expect? 💭
That’s because not all weight gain (or loss) is the same — your hormones play a HUGE role.

💡 The key?
It’s not just about eating less or exercising more — it’s about supporting YOUR body and YOUR hormones.

✨ When you understand your body, everything changes.
